What a show! This Fall Dance gave me such a beautiful experience, I am so absolutely grateful for my M2B class and for Ms. Britt!! From exploring new improv methods, to focusing more on expressing myself through movement with balletic qualities, I could not be more grateful to have this piece as part of my senior year experience. Will forever cherish this last time dancing on the DeMille stage with my cohort <3.

A full-circle moment I never could have imagined. I’m walking back through these doors with a heart full of gratitude—for the teachers who shaped me, the students who continue to teach me, and every chapter that brought me here.
There’s something deeply humbling about returning to a place that once held so many dreams, now carrying a little more wisdom, a lot more perspective, and the same love for dance.

Grateful doesn’t quite cover it. 🤍

Many thanks to Marie of @essexdanceacademy for all your support and to #katrinakillian for the opportunity for continued growth, learning and connection.

Bridge Days just wrapped up! 🥰🩰🪘 What an amazing session run by @bjuleen from the School of Dance, Steve Alford of @imj_uncsa and our Dr. K (behind the camera)!

Bridge Days are two days per semester when regular classes stop 🛑 and we have a chance to interact differently with one another, learning from guest speakers, engaging in sessions combining art conservatories, and exploring various ideas together!

(Our session had 70 students from all 5 conservatories! 🤌)

We talked about free improv, learning how dance & movement explore it, as well as how music perceives it. We tried each other’s hats on - including having musicians move and dancers create sound, and all our other arts friends do both. 👒 🧢 🎩 Did we already mention it was awesome??

Thanks to everyone for bringing their curiosity and fabulous “yes, and” attitude! It was amazing seeing everyone join in on the movement and sound-making in the moment! 🩵

Today dancers in Levels 3 and 4 had the opportunity to audition for the role of Party Child in the UNCSA School of Dance’s The Nutcracker with production choreographer, Ilya Kozadayev and faculty member, Britt Gonzalez…such a special and educative experience for all!
