Our love story isn’t a typical one. It’s one built through resilience, growth, and a whole lot of grace.

A girl from Prudence Island, Rhode Island, who grew up loving horses and the ocean, while experiencing hardship and loss at a young age. A country boy from Atlanta who worked his way to success with grit, loyalty, and a desire for his own family.

What started with a pack of gum and bold moves in New York became a life we could have never imagined.

Over the last eleven years, we’ve experienced long-distance love, starting over in Atlanta, near-death scares, career shifts, parenthood, breakups, reconciliations, unimaginable loss, therapy, faith, prayer, and growing up together. There were moments that nearly broke us. But through it all, we chose each other. Again and again.

One year ago today, after ten years together, we finally said, “I do.” Not because our story was perfect—but because it was real.

We’ve learned that resilience isn’t about avoiding hard seasons. It’s about walking through them together, keeping God at the center, extending grace, and choosing each other every day.

Forever this will be one of my favorite days of my life. A celebration of healing, hope, and the kind of love that never gives up. My favorite part was hearing your vows, standing before God, surrounded by the people we love most, and knowing I chose right.

We did a thing.

And took a trip to Paris.

To watch the Eiffel Tower sparkle. To stand in front of the Mona Lisa. To bake croissants. To cruise down the Seine. To wander until we couldn’t wander anymore.

But somewhere along the way, it became about so much more.

It was about friendship.
It was about discovery.
It was about slowing down and being present.
It was about history, art, and watching our children experience a different part of the world.

One of my favorite surprises was at the Louvre. Everyone rushes to the Mona Lisa, but don’t forget to turn around. The Wedding Feast at Cana hanging directly across from her is just as breathtaking in its own way.

Now for my honest review. 😂 The pastries absolutely lived up to the hype. The hot chocolate? Incredible. The architecture? Some of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. The French food overall wasn’t my favorite, but it was def cleaner and you just feel healthier, the people weren’t always the warmest—but every place has its own culture, and that’s part of the experience. And yes… Paris is expensive, but that VAT refund definitely made Chanel and jewelry shopping feel a little sweeter. Use Taxis as long as they turn on the meter they get to use taxi only streets. Making the trip shorter.

Most of all, this trip reminded me that experiences will always mean more than things. Watching my children discover the world, kissing my husband by the sparkle of the Eiffel Tower, and making memories with the people I love most—that’s what I’ll remember long after the suitcases are unpacked.

Paris, you were beautiful.
