A love letter to the sensitive souls. ♡

Being sensitive means feeling deeply attuned to all of life, the beautiful and the difficult. I’ve learned how to hold it all, in myself, and those I hold space for.

I’ve come to recognize that as a gift.

It’s woven into the way I see the world, the way I connect, and the way I photograph.

I notice the little things. I feel the world deeply. And I want you to feel seen, too.

If you’ve ever been told you’re too much, know that your depth is welcome here. All of it.

There’s room for all of you here.

Sensitive powerful hearts, unite. ♡

A little reintroduction.

We’re Kat + Lauren. Wives (to each other), mothers, business partners, and the women behind Terra Firma Healing Arts.

Terra Firma means solid ground, held by the earth. This sense of grounding and connection to nature guides everything we do and the spaces we create.

We each found our way to yoga, meditation, and healing practices through our own journeys. Along the way, our paths came together, and so did our vision for what we wanted to create.

Terra Firma grew organically, through community and word of mouth (thank you!). Through connection and a shared belief in the importance of creating spaces where people can simply be. Where they feel truly held and supported, allowing space for healing and transformation to unfold naturally from within.

We’re also two women with a lot of life beyond the work. Artists, creatives, mothers, lovers of nature, and perpetual students of this beautifully mysterious human experience.

A little more about us in the photos! 𖤓

Hi, I’m Lauren. It’s been a minute since I’ve introduced myself here 🤍

I’m the photographer behind Terra Firma Photography, and I’ve been doing this work for over two decades now, which still feels a little wild to say.

This summer I’ve found myself going deeper into the healing arts side of my work: intuitive/energy work, yoga, sound, and holding space for people through all kinds of transitions. And I’m feeling really ready to bring more of that part of me back into my photography this fall.

I think what I’ve always loved most about photographing people is getting to witness who someone is right now. Not necessarily waiting for the usual milestones or some perfected version of yourself. You…now…worthy as you are.

I -especially- love working with people who are in a season of becoming or reclaiming themselves.

I love photographing women, artists, healers, therapists, small business owners and creative humans. I love soulful branding that actually feels like the person behind the work. I loved sacred events. And I love photographing families and relationships in all the beautiful, imperfect ways we belong to each other.

I’m also queer, married to my wife, and working with LGBTQ+ people, couples + families is especially close to my heart. This is always a space where you get to show up as yourself.

Mostly, I want photographs to feel less like performing for a camera and more like being seen. I hear a lot that the camera disappears as we flow together in warmth.

So hi again. I’m Lauren. Photographer, healing arts practitioner, artist, mom, nature lover, and someone who will absolutely walk barefoot into a creek with you.

Thank you for everyone who has trusted me with their stories that fill this post, my page, and more.

My fall books are open. I have limited availability left in September and a little more spaciousness in October + November.

If you’ve been wanting to document who you are in this season, I’d love to photograph you. 🤍
