Driving the Spider Duetto always makes a good day a great one. I rarely drive this beautiful car, and after six months of winter storage it started easily and didn’t complain once during our sixty mile drive to @duke_of_london ‘s Classics & Cake event. After seeing friends there, we exchanged the Alfa Romeo for the Maserati (which also hadn’t been driven for some months) in our West London garage and had a spirited drive back to the barn near Newbury. The first few months of a year are the same each time with thoughts of driving the old cars and it is usually the Maserati I think of driving the most, so doing so on Sunday had been long awaited. ————————————————————————————— #maserati430 #alfaromeospider #dukeoflondon #classicsandcake #alfaromeogtv6

PART 1: Once a year, the team, some mates and I basically go on a stag do for my birthday because, whilst it may sound morbid, having already lost some of the greats, we’ll all be dead one day, so why not. Until now, we’ve always set unrealistically low budgets and bought shitters, usually with a couple weeks of MOT left on them, to drive into the ground. This year, I banged my head and let them loose in some of my own bits and some friends brought theirs along too. Seriously though, what’s the point in having them if you can’t share them with your mates? That said, whilst we came away unscathed, normal service to resume next year 😅 I’m pretty embarrassed to admit that this was my first time driving the proper roads of Wales. Usually, I’m hot footing it to Holyhead, anxious not to miss the ferry I’m inevitably running late to. A huge thank you to @leonoliwindow our formidable host, fixer and owner of the brilliant @loweclassics at @ignitionshed and to @georgeww_media for these pics, mostly shot clinging onto the roll bar of an R129 SL320 that @leonoliwindow was more than outpacing the rest of us in. Further SFW highlights of our Welsh trip include (but not limited to) @charles_frb being carried out of Coyote Ugly in Cardiff the wee hours by 4x Heddlu in a case of mistaken identity (sadly, they realised and let him go), @thebrentfordcobbler getting a view into his future in Usk museum and a local valleys woman (old enough to know better) quite literally running off with 80 of our McNuggets into the night. Big love to all of the posse for entertaining my nonsense and coming alone for the ride ❤️🤝

The first Salone Track Day of every year is always high on my list of events to look forward to once a year changes. But for some very crazy reasons, this years first track day of the year got even more exciting! My mate, Merlin, the boss of Duke Of London, all round legend & BIRTHDAY BOY!!! said to me about wanting to take his Alfa Romeo Giulia on track as well his mate Stuart wanting to take his Mercedes 190SL. But on top of that, Merlin whispered to me that another of my absolute favourite people in the world & a man I’m equally glad to call a very good friend of mine, Chris Harris was coming to test an Alfasud. And he absolutely did come, we all had a great time & yep, he’s racing said Sud at the Members Meeting! As for Merlin’s Alfa? Well. It performed perfectly on the way down, but when he took it on track, it had stage fright. Actually it was worse than that. The head gaskets went pop & then, died. Which was a massive blow as he only had it rebuilt 1000 miles ago. Mind you, he treated himself to some glasses of beer & a ride in Stu’s Mercedes. Whilst being chased by an AC Cobra race car & chasing a Citroen 2CV!!! I had literally the best time & the best bit? I took my favourite little convertible down too! Yep, I took MY Mazda MX5 on a road trip to this crazy but absolutely fantastic day! Can’t wait for the next Salone day at the end of May!

LANGEENEEE A special way to start the year - picking my godson Björn up from nursery, winding him up and then handing him back to his parents @bkpig @carolinedwilkinson. Love this no-so-little rascal. Happy New Year Everyone. There really feels like there’s a lot more optimism and enthusiasm in the air compared to this time last year, despite the trials and tribulations we have seemingly all fought over the past 12 months. Long may it reign. Thank you so very much for your overwhelming support and encouragement with Duke, it really has kept us going. We are only a few months away from finally opening the doors to our new home to you all. It’s been one hell of a journey to get here and there are still some hurdles to overcome but it has all been made possible thanks to so many of you to whom I’m eternally grateful. It is going to be a very special place that we cannot wait to share with you at long last. In the meantime, we’re very much open for business. Owing to popular demand, we’ve just expanded our vehicle storage space AGAIN and have some (limited) room once more for both car and motorcycle storage in West London. We have been very busy over the festive period with sales and we are on the hunt for new sales stock over £50k - either on consignment or outright purchase. We are in the process of expanding our existing classic car servicing and detailing/ceramic/PPF arms and are looking for new experienced team members to join us. We are still taking bookings for all such services. All of our creative workspaces are currently occupied by an incredible eclectic mix of local, independent businesses and individuals and we have one new space, the old @plonkersbar room, available to rent from next week plus other new creative workspace sites in the pipeline to open later this year. We are already taking bookings for events at the new space and are looking for experienced hospitality staff to join us too. The pub @brewerytapbrentford remains open with @patio.pizza having really taken off. Please DM me with any enquiries. Wishing you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2026. Remember to be kind. 82nd Goodwood Members Meeting. Song. Dennis Ferrer, How Do I Let Go Pretty much cementing itself as my favourite of Goodwoods three major automotive events, in at 8, we had back to April for the 82nd Members Meeting. The real highlight for me this year was the early GT3 cars from 2005-12, cars that were allowed to do nothing from just as the pandemic started to now & now some of the most desirable historic racing cars you can buy. And the sprint was a total joy to watch! Another highlight was the car park where you saw traditional Revival favourites mixed with cars from the modern classic era to brand new EV’s! Great action on track, including a little demonstration of how they made the F2 film as well as a fast & wonderful demonstration of Sennas first GP winner 40 years later, plenty of friends to see & yep the culmination of the failed Survival Of The S***est! So badly it went wrong that they abandoned their cars in London, got Merlin’s toy box out & I disqualified the lot of them! The last picture is the only picture I personally took of any of the banger convertibles they drove (I sort of helped them source them…). And I declared it to be mine for a member of the family, but upon closer inspection, it along with the majority of the others did that matter, were too far gone. And so that PT Cruiser convertible ended up in the crusher. Probably turned into a Jaecoo 7 or a yellow Nissan Juke!
