@helpthehousefoundation put on Down to Frankfurter 2 last weekend at @modistbrewing with proceeds going to help hospitality industry people in need. Help the House a great organization and you all should for sure follow them to see when their next event pops up. With this event a $25 ticket got you all you can eat hot dogs from 6 elite twin cities chefs and restaurants. It’s a no brainer to help support.

The High Dive Inn is the newest addition to that great bar and restaurant scene in Hudson, Wisconsin. And one you need to make a repeat visit to!

@bksplinter did an amazing job with this place, AND there might be more to come, but you’ll have to wait and see 👀

Head there with friends, or just pull up a spot at the bar! @blackstackbrewing makes their house lager called “Cannonball” and it’s frosty and delicious 🤤 🍺

They have six different tasty cocktails, some sweet shooters, and a solid can list. This last Saturday I got to catch some of the final four action on the massive TV. There’s also some good ol video slots and some sick merch too. 🤘

I had:
- Do Not Disturb: Tequila, Sotol, Banana, Citrus, Bitters

- The Old Fashioned: Knob Creek 9yr Bourbon, Demerara, Bitters

I also had: A GOOD TIME 🤘🫶

@thehighdiveinn in Hudson (401 2nd St Suite LL2, Hudson, Wl) where you’ll find great drinks and fun times without having to break the bank in a lowkey space.

Lots of retro touches throughout the space from the vintage postcards across the tables to the Tiffany-style-stained glass pendant lights hanging over the bar.

The drink menu is straightforward along with a small, but excellent selection of original cocktails including their Old Fashioned and a fun riff on the Jungle Bird appropriately called the Jungle Bean. Their beer and a bump affectionately called the High Dive High Five is a frosty mug of their Cannon Ball Lager from @blackstackbrewing and a shot of Jim Bean Pineapple. Beer, wine, seltzers are also available.

From time to time, you may see them offer “irresponsibly priced fancy whiskey in semi-ironic vessels” specials like they recently did with Old Rip Van Winkle served in a plastic ramekin for only $10.

Electronic gaming machines can also be found in the back in case you’re feeling lucky.

No food yet, but elevated New York hot dogs are planned, however, their sister spot Nova Bar is less than a minute away with food from Kinsley’s Smokehouse Deli.

Coming to a @novabarhudson near you. Last weekend I celebrated my birthday at my favorite haunt over in Hudson WI to see what kind of new f**kery @bksplinter and Co have been up to. There’s always some kind of new gonzo scheme cooking to shock and awe the loyal clientele with, and this trip was no different. @kinsleys_deli is the new kitchen resident with Chef James cranking out east coast style deli fare which he never shies to push a bit outside the box. If you haven’t tried what I believe to be the best Reuben in the area then you owe yourself. I was with my fam so no pics of lunch, but when I was surprised with a gifted bday dessert that hadn’t quite made the menu, out comes the camera.

📸: Deep Fried Uncrustable ~ not my first rodeo with one of these, surprisingly, but this one has an actual graham cracker dredge AND…..yes that is an accompaniment of peanut butter whiskey (PB&J accompanying shot coming soon — I tried it, it’s astoundingly deadly, you’ll love it)

Grasshopper Cannoli ~ the newest dessert concoction from Chef James boasts a blend between a faved Italian confection and a beloved supper club dessert drink. Sweet ricotta blended with crème de menthe inside crisp fried dough shells. It’s an amazing digestif.
