CHECKMATE — Immanence (2013) 💙🩵🖤
With Immanence, Checkmate delivered a record built on modern metal, hardcore intensity, crushing grooves and atmospheric tension.
Tracks like “Invictus,” “A Maze” and “By Any Means Necessary” show a band capable of balancing aggression with melody and mood.
Produced with Guyom Pavesi and mastered by Alan Douches, the album carries a powerful, controlled sound.
At the time, Immanence felt like the beginning of something bigger. But in 2016, Checkmate split up, leaving this record as their only true full-length album.
Heavy. Technical. Intense.
A strong piece of French metal history from a band whose story ended too soon.

****

Suisse Normande isn’t Switzerland. It’s a wild, rocky part of Normandy, France, where we wrote some tracks of the album.

Part of “Debris” was shot there, and these landscapes became more than locations. They became part of the story: solitude, transformation, reconstruction.

Thank you to French regional newspaper Ouest-France for telling that side of the project.

Behind the scene of the shooting of Debris, from the dark cliffs and the white deserts of Spain to luxurious French forest, and in Paris on white background. Almost one year in the making and so many memories.

'Debris' videoclip is available on YouTube and the album 'Isthmos' on vinyl, CD and on streaming platforms.

Thank you for the overwhelming support!

Over a year in the making, across France and Spain, from dusk in the Abanillas desert to dusk in Normandy. It wasn't easy to put images to something so intense, personal and powerful, or to faithfully capture the world of Isthmos, but we're humbled and grateful to finally share “Debris” with you.
