I have a vague memory of being at a gathering with a bunch of friends who had quit skating like me when we were 12/13 but somehow the host had Stay Gold to put on their TV. I was around 19 then so it would have been the first skate video I’d watched for years and while other people came and went I stayed for the duration. This speaks to the artistry of the video more than anything but around that time a friend and I started skating again with intent and neither of us have looked back.

That was about 14 years ago now and it’s mind boggling to think how many hours of skate videos I’ve consumed in that time. Do people grow out of watching skate videos like I did video games or do they just not have time anymore? Ask me in another 14 years.
