🟢Mission completed🟢

After my left QL tear injury in August 2025 ruining my OSG qualifier attempt.
Being down and out, I needed something to focus on to get me out of the funk of the comfort zone and victim mindset. Otherwise I’d never get back in to it and time would melt away leaving only impending regret in years to come!

I set my self a goal of 4 Open weight comps in 2026 simply to aim for something and see what I could do after a set back. Just “go and try” as I was still rehabing my back when I booked them.

To my suprise… I did very well. For this I am grateful and blessed to compete with some jugernaughts, come in good standings and come away with only a few niggles. 🙏

Booking these seemed like last week. And this point felt years away!?

Thank you to all that hosted, competed, supported and dare I say it… doubted. I’ve loved every bit of it. Time to enjoy training now and do what I want to do on a nice off season, to work on my business and get my body back to a good baseline. Firstly with my shoulder issue.

I’ve learnt a lot this year and worked so hard on myself both physically, but most importantly… mentally!

If I hadn’t have set these goals and got way out of my comfort zone, I dread to think who I would be as a person now. Sour, petty, angry, toxic, weak corrupted by EGO.

I love this sport, it’s been far too good to me!

Coaches that get it, get it 🥹

When you’ve watched someone show up week in, week out despite the challenges of work, life, parenthood etc etc and they get to that goal - a comp, a PB or a mindset win - it means EVERYTHING, even to you as coach, that person on the sidelines

When you’ve worked through the stress, niggles, injuries, setbacks & curveballs that life likes to throw and they’ve stuck with it, trusted the process and trusted themselves, it’s pure magic.

When it’s early days in their training and you see that little click of understanding, when a work on becomes a skill - it brings me absolute joy every time 🥰

Stepped up a category… and it showed.
Hardest comp I’ve ever done. Most of the events were simply too heavy for me at this level — and that’s on me. But I still walked away with a deadlift PB at 220kg, and I’m sort of happy with that.

What I did appreciate was that the other competitors were supportive, nobody took the piss, just a fist bump and knowing nod. This is a decent sport with decent people involved.

Not the result I wanted, but exactly the push I needed.
Back to the gym…

‼️ ONE WEEK OUT 👀‼️

Here are all the important things you need to know:

⏰ - Athlete sign in from 9am. Sign in will be located in the bar area. Competitors please arrive promptly, there will be a waiver / disclaimer to sign & a goodie bag to collect along with your t shirt 👕🛍️

📢- Safety briefing will be at 9:40am - All competitors MUST be present. If you are not here for the safety briefing you cannot compete‼️

🏁 First event will start at 10am - We will give everyone chance to warm up before & then it’s go time 💪🏼

📍Just to confirm the location is Hamfields Leisure, Berkeley, GL13 9TN (NOT at Next Level!!)

🚗 ATHLETES- as you come through the main gates, please follow the road all the way round the back of the building, there will be someone there to show you where to park. We are asking where possible athletes & spectators to travel together to minimise overall traffic volume ⚠️

🚙 SPECTATORS - if arriving separately, then park on the left hand side as you come through the gate.

It's about chicken n rice. It's about going to Sunday roast and having dry chicken when everyone else's is swimming in gravy. Boiled potatoes when others' are fried (Specially made for me by the best family I've met). It's about not accepting the FREE iced coffee from Starbucks from a work colleague when you'd give anything to have it. Putting away the chocolates your gf "accidentally" left out so you're not tempted. ❤️

If you truly want to stick to something you will. If you don't you won't. Be honest with yourself. If you don't stick to the diet plan you don't want it bad enough.

This diet @scammellman_bodybuilding has me on is tough. But I'm fuckin tougher. It's really not that bad because I want it. I want to get to this goal of my first place metal. To show myself how tough I am. To absolutely shove all of the bullshit people have said right down their mf'n throats. 💪💪💪❤️

Could have definitely gone heavier. On a new workout plan and feeling it out for the first round through.
