The Battle on Bay Street was excellent. Sceptres emerged victorious. Loved watching Vancouver play. Not a bad way to work on a Saturday. Alhumdullilah.
I got some questions in, saw some great people, took selfies with the faves, and stood in line for the GO bus with a fave Olympian. There is something really spectacular about seeing so many people fill an arena watching professional women's hockey. The intense fans, the exuberance of little girls, happy families on a weekend. Everyone watches women's sports - and they always will InshaAllah.
It will never, ever get old.

For Asian Heritage Month, @colinaryadventure and I hosted “The Golden Table,” where I brought together some of my favourite Asian tastemakers, creatives and innovators (and our allies) for a fun dinner to celebrate our community.

It’s really just about getting great people around the same table — incredible food by Hong Shing, good energy, and conversations with friends who are shaping the culture of our city in their own way.

I’m always happy to have a genuine reason to post on this crusty ass app and this is a major one. A while back a good friend of mine told me about his idea to create a dominoes night. When he told me the idea I was like cool cool. Could probably get off a small one, two nights for the culture and then on to the next. Since the first one in November @marlonpusey and @dakturner have Done probably 20 nights, turned the thing from a monthly to a bi weekly and have the whole city buzzing about what they’ve created. It’s beautiful to see something like dominoes, a game that I think has never gotten as much credit as it deserves regarding how meaningful it is to Caribbean countries in bringing everyone together, is having a moment. It’s also beautiful to see how many women are coming out and absolutely dominating tables, because growing up I really only saw men hogging the tables lol. If you haven’t experience a @dominoclub_to night I suggest you follow them and sit by your phone for when the tickets drop cause these things sell off literally in seconds everytime. To 1000 more nights minimum gents 🫱🏿‍🫲🏾.
