I finally got the pile of parts whittled down and got my Black Duck Sculpin rigging started yesterday. There's a lot more to do including finishing the nonskid on the rear deck, installing the rear hatch lid, full rub rail, wiring, carbon trim tabs, Lowrance, push pole holders, SeaDek, on-gunnel rod racks and all the little details but she's full of 11 gallons of ethanol free and ready to see how she floats with most of the weight I plan on having on her. I estimated total rigged weight with gas at around 500 pounds. The grab bar and chair are 100% removable with just four stainless star knobs and two Yeti straps if for any reason I want to fish her stripped down a little. I also designed and installed my prototype Ultra Dry Launch Bunk System to shut all those "bow line fanatics" up and she will slide off in any area I can get the tires within ten feet of water she can float in. I will be posting more on that later. I've also got a prototype prop coming soon to pair up with my Zephyr Cove Customs pickup system that should be a game changer for the low horsepower skiff guys...

I'm stoked to get her wet for the maiden voyage today at the lake if this first cool front doesn't blow me off the water! More update posts to come, this is only the beginning.

A little behind the scenes of Jonathan Glasser's badass two part mold carbon fiber trim tabs...knocking around eight pounds off my stern to keep the Black Duck Sculpin light and nimble for those redfish that like to crawl around looking for snacks with their ojos out of the water...more to come!

My boys at Specialty Aluminum Works throwing down on some aluminum fab for my Black Duck Sculpin. I had this idea for a stepless poling platform with some artistic flare for a while and now these guys made it a reality. Maximum tiller articulation was the main goal but I also wanted it to look smooth and it turned out looking even better than I envisioned...

Laying out and drilling holes in a fresh hull is extremely satisfying...Hull Marine Products nanoJack and a zero hour Yamaha F25 test fit on my Black Duck Sculpin. Measure thrice drill once!
