My September started at the @first5california First 5 California Summit, and I’m closing the month still inspired by it! ✨🔝

So grateful for the opportunity to learn, connect, and be in community with so many amazing people working for children and families across our state! I was proud to be there representing the San Francisco Child Care Planning and Advisory Council.

Highlights include the energy, heart, and creativity @blackececa BlackECE brought to the Summit, and seeing our amazing friend, California Health and Human Services Secretary Kim Johnson, receive a Reiner Legacy Award!

Already looking forward to the next one!

44 organizations. One demand.

AB 2599 has passed the California legislature with broad, diverse support. Why? Because Californian lawmakers agree, the public has the right to know which corporations profited from slavery.

@cagovernor, sign AB 2599.

Submit a letter today urging @gavinnewsom to sign #AB2599 through the link in our bio.

What if an early care & education (ECE) system saw and celebrated Black children and was designed with their brilliance in mind?

This question was at the❤️of this year’s BlackECE Symposium, hosted by Black Californians United for Early Care and Education

We were proud to sponsor BlackECE’s 3rd Annual Symposium.

This inspiring and joyous convening centered on Black culture, capital and economic justice in early care and education.

Congratulations to the BlackECE team! We’re grateful to have been part of it.

Last week, our Policy Director Carolyne Crolotte and Policy Analysts Andrew Avila and Eduardo Gutiérrez attended the 2026 @blackececa Symposium: We Are the Return. In community with early care and education leaders, educators, advocates, and practitioners, they explored how Black cultural knowledge, history, and lived experiences can help shape reparative policies, equitable funding, and stronger systems for early care and education.

@earlyedgeca is grateful for the opportunity to learn, listen, and bring these insights into our continued work toward a more equitable early learning and care system. #BlackECE
