POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A Delaware jury has awarded Kaligah Parker $1.28 million after finding his former employer, road contractor Greggo & Ferrara, liable for racial discrimination and a severe hostile work environment.

Parker, a Dover resident working as a laborer and machine operator, faced relentless abuse from coworkers who were reportedly jealous of his access to equipment training and higher-earning opportunities.

According to the lawsuit, the harassment included:

*Being addressed with racial slurs and “boy”

*Coworkers making whip-cracking gestures and throwing rocks at a portable toilet while he was inside

*Being singled out for menial chores like picking up gum wrappers while white peers left early

When Parker reported the abuse, a supervisor told him he needed “thicker skin” and that respect had to be earned.

Following a 5-day trial, the jury deliberated for just 3 hours to rule in Parker’s favor.

Despite the company expected to appeal, Parker’s story is one of ultimate resilience. After turning his life around and receiving a state pardon, he now dedicates his time to leading The Carry Their Light Project, a nonprofit focused on youth mentoring and violence prevention.

Glad they caught this clown. Hopefully he’s prosecuted to the fullest extent. Delaware County deserves the law to be applied and all people respected.

Authorities have arrested 40-year-old Sean Keenan of Havertown after prosecutors say he left two racist, profanity-filled voicemail messages targeting Delaware County Sheriff Siddiq Kamara, who is Black.

Investigators allege the messages contained threats serious enough to result in charges including terroristic threats, ethnic intimidation, harassment, and disorderly conduct. Keenan was taken into custody following a criminal investigation.

LeBron James, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, has agreed to a contract with the Philadelphia 76ers, ending his eight-season run with the Lakers, according to ESPN. This becomes the fourth different franchise for James, marking the first time he will play under a new uniform since the start of the 2018 season. It also sets up an intriguing pairing with newly-acquired star forward Jaylen Brown and team mainstays Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid.

🏛️ Backlash is growing after the federal government replaced a slavery exhibit at Philadelphia’s George Washington site. Critics say the new version downplays Washington’s ties to slavery and gives less attention to the nine enslaved people who lived and worked there.

The changes have reignited debate over how America presents its history.

⚠️ Graphic Content: Viewer Discretion Advised

🚨 Here’s what happened:

• Delaware officials have released body camera footage from the June 24 fatal police shooting of 19-year-old Kadir Skinner.

• The footage includes video from three Wilmington police officers involved in the incident.

• The videos were released after weeks of public calls from Skinner’s family, community members, and elected officials demanding transparency.

• The released footage does NOT show what led to the initial interaction between police and Skinner. It only includes brief clips of the foot chase before the shooting.

• Attorneys representing Skinner’s family are expected to hold a press conference this afternoon.

The release of the footage is likely to raise new questions as the investigation continues.

💬 Have you watched the footage? What are your thoughts on what was released?
