Late night at Black Lodge. 🌙🍸 Moody lighting, strong cocktails, and a menu built for staying out a little longer. We went with the Black Manhattan, but the late-night lineup also includes espresso martinis, Negronis, loaded dogs, fries, wings, patty melts…and even caviar + shots. A fun RVA stop when you’re not quite ready to call it a night. 📍 Black Lodge | Richmond, VA @blacklodgerva 🌙 Late-night menu starts at 10 PM #RichmondVA #RVA #VisitRichmond #RVANightlife #RichmondFoodies

Another month jam-packed with eats and drinks around #rvadine. These were my faves: 🍳 I think @kubakubarestaurant is my favorite under-the-radar weekday breakfast spot—it doesn’t open until 9 am so block your calendar accordingly 😉 🍜 summer isn’t stopping me from nood-ing it up. Have you hit @qinweixuanrva & @dannamrva yet? 🐖 the French dips (yes there are several) at @thecontinentalrichmond Manchester are another sleeper standout. 🐌 not sure how I ended up with two takes on escargots this month, but both are buttery and garlicky and delicious. Snail crawl anyone? 🐙 I don’t know how I missed the buffalo octopus on my previous visits to @lafayettetavern but I can’t stop thinking about it now. Including that little cucumber salad. 🍸 The Keep the Change at @jasperbarrva is a must-try. Thai rum, Japanese gin, basil, cilantro, mint, lime, pineapple, fish sauce, chili oil is savory-sweet and as interesting as it sounds. 🍔 I also ended up with two burger standouts this month. Both are double smashes that are satisfying, saucy and calling for one more bite. 🍞 just go to @mortysmarketanddeli and order everything. Come to the spritz class on August 11 too! 🌯 non-captioned burrito video is from @elchidorva Broad Street. Come hungry! 🦪 sorry not sorry for all the @beaucouprva food porn. Can’t stop won’t stop. ☕️ @stellasgrocery Scott’s is quietly turning out interestind and delicious rotating coffee specials. This one was flavorful and creamy but not too sweet. ✅ save for August eating inspo!

[Earlier this month] we had a holiday weekend, a blistering celebration of our nation that often includes a cookout and, of course, hot dogs. This is America. We’re not ones to turn our noses up at the noble wiener, preferably artisan-made and styled with interesting toppings, but even a classic all-beef dog enjoyed late at night or at a baseball game will do. Because of the sweltering temps, no one wants to do any thinking so at the very least, we thought we’d keep the grill guessing and haute, hot dog-hunting off your plates. First, we caught up with award-winning grilling professional Maddy Ryze of @webergrills, who shared some tips on getting the grill just right. Ryze has been answering burning grill questions since 2020 for Weber Grills where she is the associate program manager for the U.S. Grill Academy. We went “girl who can grill and will” on Ryze and asked all the questions semi-experienced home grillers secretly wonder about but rarely ask because they feel like they “should already know.” Second, we compiled our favorite places around town for a good wiener. We probably should have brought these to you before the Fourth but we didn’t because, dang, it was absolutely murder to be outside. So keep these in your back pocket for those weekends that deserve a grill-out when it’s chill out. Check out pro grilling tips and the roundup of our favorite Richmond hot dog spots at the link in our bio.
