Cardiology Fellowship applications open next week‼️👀 A common misconception for Cardiology MATCH is that competitive applications can only be achieved by more research and publications.

Turns out, some of the things that helped me most weren’t on the “typical” checklist… 👀👇🏾

Slide 1:
📌 You don’t need a perfect application—just meaningful experiences that show initiative and commitment 💯

Slide 2:
📌 Volunteered to teach medical students clinical skills.
Teaching demonstrated leadership, communication, and a genuine investment in education 🤓

Slide 3:
📌 Volunteered to teach medical students how to read EKGs.
I consistently showed up for opportunities to mentor and support learners outside of my required duties 📈

Slide 4:
📌 Created an ultrasound curriculum and taught medical students.
Building a curriculum highlighted initiative, educational leadership, and my interest in cardiovascular imaging 🩻

I’m not saying research doesn’t matter, but don’t underestimate the value of teaching, leadership, and consistently showing up for opportunities to serve others.

What’s an unconventional experience that strengthened your application?👇🏾
