$Even if I didn’t break my wrist (in a non-work incident) during the Hooked installation, it would have still been impossible to do this alone. So it felt extra miraculous to have good people come to the rescue throughout. This first photo here is @jeffreywilcoxpaclipan @rial_rye and @ronsaunders who worked nonstop for hours helping get back on track after the fracture. @sloppygeorge @flutterandwow and the whole crew were critical in not only tightening up my install, but fabricating an entire museum exhibit in weeks. Many, many volunteers helped scavenge hundreds of items associated with all sorts of everyday addictions around ATL. Thank y’all for rolling up your sleeves and getting creative with it. Inside the sculpture are portraits and stories shared by people with tremendous insights regarding addiction. The humility and power of their words changed me. Thank you all for courageously sharing. @_smrpink and @freddydeshon helped get that steel framework strong and shapely.💪🏼💥 @philproctorsculpture thank you for helping move this beast multiple times. And @southriverartstudios for housing it! @jonathanimafidor @lookididit @ari.atlien thank you for turning trash to art like it’s your day job. Dr. Nadine Matthie, thank you for the time and in depth lesson on addiction / those who live with Sickle Cell Anemia. And the list goes on…… @hannah_redlerhawes @emoryarts @scigalleryatl @scigallerydub … thank you for weaving this important work together. Massive appreciation goes to @floydintl for inviting me in, believing in the vision, curating the whole exhibit, checking in all along the way, and being one hell of an Atlantan. And most importantly, endless gratitude to my wife Mollie for the most steadfast support and love throughout all these crazy ideas and curveballs. ♥️ Long winded, yes, but so important… THANK YALL. :)$
