Let’s raise our paws and give a belated Barkday shout out to an amazing pup who join the family last year ending summer ! SCOOBY! 🐾💜
~ June 29 ~

🏆 🎉🐾 Happy Belated Barkday to this handsome Black Mouth Cur, SCOOBY! 🐾🎉

Another year older and just as amazing as ever! Unlike the Scooby from the cartoons, our Scooby is no scaredy-cat! 😂 He’s brave, confident, and always more than ready for his walkies and adventures. Whether he’s exploring the neighborhood or sniffing out his favorite spots, Scooby is always full of personality and excitement. One of the sweetest parts of his journey has been the incredible bond he’s built with his best friend and favorite walker, Luis. ❤️🐶 The trust, love, and excitement he shows every time they’re together is something truly special. While Scooby may not be the biggest fan of every dog he meets, there’s no doubt he has the biggest heart for the humans he loves. His loyalty, goofy moments, and loving personality make him one unforgettable pup.We are beyond grateful to Scooby’s amazing dad for trusting Dogsofallboroughs and giving us the opportunity to be part of his life. Watching him grow, making memories together, and sharing so many adventures has been an absolute joy. Every walk with Scooby brings smiles, laughs, and stories we’ll never forget. Here’s to many more years of exciting adventures, happy tail wags, endless treats, and making even more wonderful memories together. We love you, Scooby! 💙🐾

Happy Belated Barkday, handsome boy! 🥳🎂🐕

Update RESCUED🎉🚨Tango is on the euthanasia list for 3 PM - Thursday 2/26 has to be rescued or adopted or he will be euthanized the following morning 🚨

5 year old Tango, a Black Mouth Cur, was surrendered to North Central on Feb 13th. His owners said he is a Black Mouth Cur and that he was given to them as a gift 5 years ago. Their reasons for surrendering were that their neighbors were complaining about Tango, that there are too many kids around, and that their landlord doesn’t want him around anymore.

They also said that Tango can be selective around men and had bitten the owner on the elbow when Tango was startled in his sleep 😞

Tango has been friendly with both male and female volunteers, he was a bit wary at first but with a slow approach he allowed pets and back scratches from male and female handlers. When excited he can have vocal play, picking up a leash and running around with it. And when the zoomies strike, he can be a little jumpy and mouthy but corrects well 💛

With dogs, Tango is described as gentle/dainty, anxious, gives timid greetings, soft, mingles with dogs but was awkwardly playful one-on-one with a female friend.

We are just getting to know Tango however his time is already up.

We suggest Tango go to an adult only home that can provide thom enrichment (both mental & physical), consistency and structure that would benefit him.

Please share this beautiful boy for a safe exit! Tango must exit by EOD Wednesday, February 25th

Tango #A2256835 is now on the euthanasia list at North Central Shelter in Los Angeles. This very charming and distinctive 5-year-old Black Mouth Cur urgently needs a foster or adopter before Wednesday, February 25th at 4 pm, or he won’t survive. Tragically, Tango’s whole world fell apart in February when the only family he had ever known abandoned him after neighbors complained and their landlord said he had to go. Given to his former owners as a puppy, he was described as affectionate, good with other large dogs, and trained in commands like sit, come, stay, and shake. They also noted he can be cautious with certain men and once snapped when startled awake from sleep, a reaction from fear rather than aggression. Since arriving, Tango has shown what a genuinely sweet and friendly boy he is with both male and female volunteers. Though cautious at first, he quickly warms up once he feels safe. In playgroups, he’s gentle and dainty, but sometimes a bit anxious or unsure as he adjusts to the chaos around him. Occasionally, Tango gets bursts of energy, becoming a little jumpy or mouthy, but he responds well to redirection and guidance. He would thrive in a calm, adult-only home that can provide structure, consistency, and both mental and physical enrichment. Adopting, fostering, pledging, or sharing Tango’s story could be the difference between life or death for an innocent soul who deserves mercy. Without our help, Tango has no voice, no chance, and no one to fight for him. You can be the hero he’s been waiting for.

When there are over 140 dogs to chose from, smart 8 month old Bonita has already figured out how to make herself stand out. She sticks her little paws under the kennel gate drawing in attention. Once she’s got her audience, she rolled over for some belly rubs. Since I couldn’t pay the tummy tax properly, I asked to meet her in the play yard. This little chicklette warmed up to us in no time and her adorable personality will make her someone’s dream dog.
