Thanks to the fine folks at @weaversart , GTA-area interior designers know a lot more about AI & interior design.

During our July 14 seminar, we discussed how AI actually works (no one fell asleep), what it does well, where it fails, why it fails and how we all can make AI work as promised in our businesses.

The Q&A session was amazing - going beyond my planned discussion for how #interiordesigners can immediately improve AI-generated concept images, operations, communications, marketing, etc - and diving into the stickier topics of job loss, environmental impact, potential cognitive decline, gov't regulation and what we can do about it.

Special thanks to Denise & Michael from Weavers Art. Their support for their interior design clients has always central to the business and that extends to how AI is impacting interior designers in 2026. To that point, we're planning a 3rd seminar for August 2026 and a series of small-group training sessions in their space.

If you're an interior designer in the GTA who is curious/concerned/excited/disappointed/freaked out by AI, follow me and Weavers Art for announcements on upcoming events.

If you can't wait, I offer 1 on 1 consulting/implementation for designers in Toronto and have a growing number of AI tools that you can use right now in your business.

By the end of the month, I will be launching a new AI tool that will radically improve the quality, quantity and speed of images you can generate with AI. I demonatrated the tool at the seminar and it was obvious to see that within 5 minutes, any interior designer should be able to generate an accurate concept image to visually demonstrate their vision for a potential client's space.

Just think what this means for landing new clients.

If you can show a concept image in 5 minutes time while another designer is struggling to describe their vision with a hand sketch & a verbal explanation....who's more likely to win that client???

Handmade tiles bring something truly special to an interior - an organic texture and character that mass-produced pieces just can’t replicate.

For our Yarmouth project, we really wanted to embrace that tactile quality. We chose these beautiful 3x8 handmade tiles from @blackrocktiles in a custom shade, perfectly tailored to our vision. They do so much more than just cover a surface; they ground the entire kitchen, giving the space a feeling that is both timeless and deeply personal.

It’s these subtle, deliberate details that truly elevate a home. 🌿✨

So happy to be able to make @blackrockstudio display sample kitchen come to life. When looking for crazy custom tiles be sure to check her out. This is the second time the tiles were being installed, the first fellow didn't own a level but lucky for @blackrockstudio I have at least 8 of them. Always exceeding my clients expectations.

This scheme isn’t for anything in particular…we were just very inspired by this mythical matching wallpaper & fabric from @houseofhackney.

I especially love the balance of characters like dragons and Griffin’s, but in these beautiful warm & approachable tones.

How amazing would this be as a living room?!

The Interior Design Show did not disappoint this year. Trends we noticed: wood slats, especially fluted were big, all kinds of wood panels, organic shapes and calm colours were prominent. I wish they introduced a technology section, with all kinds of smart home collections. @rumalow @alisa_mcronald @designs_av @urbanbarn @obakki @vondomslu @modernistwood @celina.k.studio @seedlipdrinks @rubinetfaucet @nextartdotcom @be_shine_textile
