I’ve spent most my life in extremes. Extreme happiness or extreme sadness. I always thought that you could only have one or the other & that balance didn’t exist. However that view changed around 6 months ago when I contemplated taking my own life. I was lost in sadness, spent 6 days in multiple panic attacks & thought that it was impossible for me to ever be happy again... but with a lot love from my LA family & a lot of self will to want to be better I met myself in the middle. I told myself to take it day by day, that living in the past would only take me backwards & living in the future would only make me forget about the present. I cut out everything that triggered me, alcohol, weed, caffeine (mostly... did you know that decaf still has caffeine, mind blown) & any relationships that didn’t add any good to my life. It’s been hard but 100% worth it. Changing your life is a decision only made by yourself but managing that change has many hands. Allow people to be there for you, allow love & allow loss. Instead of wishing you felt better, or didn’t feel pain try acknowledging what is happening in your mind & noting it. It’s only when you sit with the discomfort that you learn to let go of it. In celebration of six months sober & my birthday in a couple days I decided that it was time go through a little more pain so I couldn’t have a daily reminder that balance is possible if you allow it. Say hello to my new tattoo, Justicia. Thank you @blackstoneghost for the incredible work you have done.

She looks to the sky for guidance. She looks to Mother Earth for support. She looks to her side for her soulmate. But when she looks within... that’s where the magic occurs. ✨✨✨
