It’s here ✨️

Our first Body & Bath collection is now in the shop. Three ways to slow down — a whipped body butter, a salt scrub and bath salts.

Scented with essential oils and botanical extracts, with Scottish sea salt in the scrub and bath salts, and blended and poured by hand in the Scottish Highlands.

- Cheesy Garlic Bread -

Now this was a quick cook for our tea and it turned out way better than I thought.

Cut a baguette in half, scoop out the middle, mix cheddar cheese, melted butter, a splash of milk, @blackthornsalt salt, grated garlic and chopped parsley in a jug and then pour into the middle of the baguette and pop the top on and put under the grill.

This will definitely keep the vampires away 🤣.

'Leftovers' Frittata

Apart from the eggs, freshly laid that morning from the farm around the corner, everything that went into the frittata was leftover from a couple of other meals: roast chicken, blackpudding, spring onions, cottage cheese (from Ottolenghi's excellent cauliflower souffle bake), a handful of grated cheddar sprinkled on top (from the same recipe), and seasoning.

Served with mixed tomatoes and finely sliced mangetout, sprinkled with @blackthornsalt

A deliciously light and easy dinner, which meant we could indulge in dessert... ➡️

Homemade Spiced Apple Cake

This was good!

We inherited two apple trees when we bought the house, so we don't have any idea as to their variety. Each are different, and they're not one's I recognise on a supermarket shelf.

One didn't do well this year; the little fruit it did produce was very good, though, and the wasps certainly took a shine to them.

But the other tree has produced SO much fruit. Delicious, sweet, tangy, crisp, juicy, good keepers too, which is just as well.

I've made several cakes and crumbles, and I really ought to make some chutney because there really are too many to eat.

But my word, what a treat they are 🍎🍎🍎

The best salt and the best people creating it.

Blackthorn Salt is the only working Salt Tower in the world and it’s right on our doorstep. They are absolute masters in their craft making the most beautiful, delicious salt, doing it in such an intricate and precise way.

We were very lucky to be shown the process and the new second tower which stands 13 meters high, 5 meters taller than the original tower.

Thank you to Blackthorn Salt for having us and creating such a magnificent product.
