Calgary, AB
Bridging Black talent to opportunities.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

September is almost here and we’re coming back with a conversation that matters.

We’re kicking off the return of the Calgary Black Chambers Monthly Speaker Series & Networking Sessions with Building the Bridge - an evening dedicated to empowering youth and young Black professionals.

Presented by Black Vantage Point x Calgary Black Chambers, the evening will feature an engaging keynote and panel conversation with accomplished industry leaders, followed by networking and opportunities to connect across industries.

Talent is everywhere, but access, exposure and opportunity aren’t always distributed equally.
Sometimes, empowerment starts with a conversation.

Sometimes, it’s meeting someone who opens a door.
Sometimes, it’s simply seeing someone who looks like you succeeding in a space you’re considering.

That’s what Building the Bridge is about.
Creating connections.
Sharing knowledge.
Opening doors.
And helping the next generation move from potential to possibility.

Date: Thursday, September 10
Time: 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Venue: Calgary Petroleum Club
Register Here: https://Inkd.in/geA9tP-p

Come for the conversation and Stay for the connections. Leave with new possibilities.

When we empower young people, we don’t just change individual careers. We strengthen the future of our community.

and just like that…..we have officially finished WEEK 1🤩💯

swipe to see what we’ve been up to👀‼️

DAY 1

starting off strong, we had aarushi @aarushi_bhargavaa talk about her experience with staring with her perfume oil business @aavaia.co, and gave our students a real look into the entrepreneurship journey 🌸✨

we also had the pleasure of inviting @africacentreyeg to share the ujima fellowship program‼️ (which is another great opportunity for the youth in case if you’re interested 😋)

lastly, we have introduced our mentors that have been helping our students build their business 👩🏽‍💼 📈

DAY 2

@kalkidannd shares her focus of the day “have the audacity!” encouraging our students to step out of our comfort zone and be bold even when it seems intimidating 😵‍💫🔝💯

then, latoya @latoya_elle shares the importance of personal branding, and how your story, values and character can play a huge role in your business 🫟🎨

DAY 3

we took a break from our usual programming and had the chance to volunteer at samaritan’s purse! @spcanada, creating a meaningful experience while also learning about the amazing work they’ve done 💚💒🫂

DAY 4

during focus of the day, paul @lls._.dre challenged our students to look at the problems around them a little differently, instead of only noticing what could be better, they were encouraged to think about how those problems could become opportunities to create something meaningful. 👀🗣️

we had the opportunity to invite @mrgoopie to talk about his experience with content creation as well as going in depth with personal branding 💯🇪🇹📲
