Fall looks good from here 🍂

A stay at Rest Breathe Reset means slow mornings by Lake Wallenpaupack and days spent exploring. Take a walk through Nay Aug Park, check out the Dave Wenzel Tree House, stop at @blackwatchcafe, or spend an afternoon wandering Jim Thorpe, all dressed up for Halloween.

A little glimpse into our mini family getaway last week to Scranton, PA.
The Office is one of my favorite show, so of course I had to make this reel using the theme song! 😆

We got to visit the @steamtownnhs & went on a train ride. 🚂
Had @wafflehouseofficial for the first time 🧇
Found a hiking trail at @nayaugpark & a unique cafe @blackwatchcafe

Also north of Scranton we went to @lakelandorchard which had the cutest mini train ride to see all their Halloween lights 👻🎃 There were Wizard of Oz characters walking around the property (Theo thought the scarecrow was sus 😄)

There was so much to do, between apple picking, feeding farm animals, riding the carousel, games/rides for the kids, a cider bar, good food & live music.
So if you’re ever in the area go check them out, especially if you have kids!

I ordered from the Oct specials menu

The Iced Scarecrow : espresso , pumpkin spice oat milk , brown butter toffee syrup , oatmilk cold foam and crushed toffee

Banana Bread Iced Latte : espresso , milk , banana puree , brown sugar syrup , sweet cream , brown sugar cinnamon

This is a must stop one you are in the city !

☕ Happy National Coffee Day! ☕

This 1800s coffee pot may be beautiful, but it’s definitely not one you’d want to drink from!

Even in the 1800s, highly decorated, varnished pots like this were typically made for decorative purposes rather than brewing coffee. Coated with a tar-and-bitumen-based varnish called asphaltum, and often containing lead in their soldered joints, such pots could leach harmful substances when heated and exposed to the acidity of coffee.

They were sometimes used as tabletop serving pitchers once the coffee had cooled a bit, though, with the coffee brewed separately in a more practical kitchen vessel.

Beautiful to look at, but best left on display!

Another hidden gem.. @blackwatchcafe , located in Nay Aug Park, Scranton, PA is the perfect place to grab a coffee with friends and take a stroll through the beautiful park.
The coffee (@counterculturecoffee ) has all your favorite go-to blends, while the cafe also has a creative seasonal menu.
Another 10/10 recommend.
