As the level of my emotional intelligence rises, one thing I’ve come to realize is that my happiness is on me. The majority of my life I tried to find happiness in all the wrong places. I would put myself in situations and surround myself with people who not only didn’t contribute to my growth, but were draining me of my peace and energy. I thought that in order to fully be happy with myself I needed to be validated by others.

With the work I am doing in therapy, along with my daily habits and rituals, I’m at a point in my life where I am able to look myself in the mirror and tell myself that I love myself, that I am worthy of happiness, that I am worthy of love. Living your truth is a beautiful thing. Take ownership of your happiness in your life.

I am Free today because someone fought, bled or died in my place. I vow as long as there is breath in my body that their sacrifice will Not Be In Vain.
