is it just me or is the nyc DIY scene in a new golden era? 🤩 it feels like a grassroots moment, events by the people and for the people. 🫱🏻‍🫲🏽

i’m so grateful to these organizers for creating spaces for people to come together through music. i went to four DIY shows last week and each one felt like home. you’re what keeps new york’s music culture alive.

shout out @reubendpresents
shout out @lankyfuego_booking
shout out @brooklynvortex
shout out @information.program

Phish phans have a certain reputation when it comes to psychedelics. But how much of it is true?

While I was in Atlantic City for the shows last weekend, I asked them directly. The answers I got went deeper than you might expect.

What's your relationship to psychedelics? 👇

Follow for part 2, coming soon. ✅

September felt like a million lifetimes and the blink of an eye. Rocktember was real, and I have the receipts. 🤘

From finding god in a tomato in Bend, Oregon, to losing my soul at two nights of @darksidetheband, to @turnstileluvconnection turning a 13,000-person stadium into a basement show, last month rewired my brain in the best way.

And the evidence doesn’t stop at what’s in this post: @cyrilneville playing the Dead at @brooklynbowl, a Stretch Your Legs dance party at @jupiter_disco, @moyungband’s mesmerizing punk chaos at @arlenesgrocery, @krugspencer solo at the piano at @lprnyc, and some incredible Portland bands (@familywarship, @the_vibetenders, and @thequickandeasyboys).

Full recap on Substack, link in bio! 🔗

What September show are you still reliving? Sign the petition to Rocktember forever in the comments. 👇

Keep calm & party on ✌️💕🤘🪩
