The SkiErg is a chain of force and your arms are NOT part of that chain. ⛓️‍💥

1. Engage the lats first.
As you reach the top of the recovery, flare your elbows. This immediately connects your lats: the strongest pulling muscles in your upper body and takes your triceps out of the movement. Your triceps shouldn’t be driving the stroke 🫵

2. Transfer through the core.
A strong brace allows the force to travel efficiently from your upper body to your lower body. Think of your core as the bridge that transfers power, not a muscle that simply bends you over.

3. Drive with the hips.
The hips are the engine. Once your lats are connected and your core is braced, aggressively snap the hips through. That’s where the majority of your power comes from.

Lats → Core → Hips.

That’s the difference between pulling the SkiErg and using the SkiErg.

Hope this helps 🤝

For all our CCNZ people who couldn’t make it to farewell our dear friend and brother JonJon Bradey.

This vid is long but I wanted you all to get a feel for what it was like had you been with us. There were tears, food, singing and so much laughter on repeat. A massive thank you to @jarnehiggins and @benjahmanhiggins for turning your house into a marae and hosting us all, I loved every minute of it.

There’s no other school or experience like ours and I feel truly blessed to have been a part of it. The relationships I made all those years ago still remain strong and I am so grateful for that. If there’s anything I have taken away from JonJon’s passing its to try and make more of an effort to spend time together. He was king at that, always stayed connected and always made an effort to catch up in person. I will cherish our friendship and the memories we made.

All my love goes out to JonJon’s loved ones he left behind. His wife who he adored Candice and their three beautiful children Ani, Kobe and Amelia and to the Bradey and Howman families ❤️

CCNZ … the bonds remain unbroken 💙

EMOM stands for every minute on the minute. Meaning rounds of exercises start again on each new minute over a specified period of time. These allow the trainer/programming to control the work, rest ratio for a specific purpose. In our EMOM sessions we cover multiple styles of training: bodyweight strength, barbell work, aerobic training or skill development. Come and try one today!
