Fact: I have the coolest brides. ✨

Brides like @chemrow, who trusted me implicitly to take her ideas and turn them into a design that truly reflects her love story.

Her draped cape combined pattern work inspired by the flowers on her @immaclenovias dress, with a secret rose to represent her Nan 🌹. As Charlie shared in her enquiry:

“All the women on my mother’s side of the family have the middle name Rose, passed down by my Nan. We lost her this time last year and we all wear little gold bracelets with a rose on, as well as have rose tattoos. I thought it would be a really special way to incorporate her into the day.”

We also bookended her design with a hand and hook motif – a clever little nod to her maiden name and married name.

And can we take a moment for the florals in the last slides? An absolute dream backdrop for this personal piece.

One of the biggest mistakes I see couples make when planning their wedding?

Not allocating their budget based on their priorities.

You need to get crystal clear on your wedding priorities, the non-negotiables. The elements you simply can’t imagine your wedding without.

Choose 3–5 clear priorities and build your budget around them.

This may mean cutting back or compromising in other areas, but that’s okay.

Keeping your priorities at the forefront of every decision you make will help keep your budget on track and reduce the risk of overspending.

Your wedding budget doesn’t need to cover everything equally. It needs to reflect what matters most to you.

And that’s exactly what we focused on for L&S’s wedding. We were clear from the start on their non-negotiables and planned their whole budget around them

1. A stately home in England, preferably one with artwork and English charm.
2. A free bar with multiple bar tenders.
3. Great music.
4. A incredible photographer.
5. Bride, groom & wedding parties looking red carpet ready!

The result was pure magic ✨

Ella & Rory's wedding at London Rowing Club, on the August bank holiday weekend.

The ceremony in the Long Room, led by Rory's brother, under rowing boats from the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Confetti on the walk back down the aisle. Everyone out on the balcony all day, with the Thames going past below.

If you're thinking about London Rowing Club for your own wedding, I've written a guide to getting married there, covering why it's worth checking the tide times, how a celebrant-led ceremony gives you room if the morning runs late, and where to escape the band in the evening. The link's in my bio 🥰

Thank you to the team at the club for keeping everything on track when Ella's taxi didn't turn up, and to Ella & Rory for letting me share their day.

Elena & Adam brought the energy to their Shoreditch wedding with some epic song requests, a non stop dance floor and disco balls for days! 🪩 🔥

When the bride and groom lead from the front like this, you know it’s going to be a good night. 🎤🥂

Documentation over Editorial. There’s a fight going on within me and I struggle over both. Which one am I? When do I choose to be one or the other? Which do I prefer? At what lengths will I go to get the shot?

Can we coin #docutorial. I’m both. I’m a people person. I photograph you documentary but make it look beautiful. There. I said it.

Also I love shooting shoes.

Congratulations Ella & Rory 🥰

Last Sunday's wedding at the London Rowing Club ran from early afternoon into the evening, the balcony overlooking the Thames busy with guests most of the day. Rory's brother led the ceremony inside, among fairy lights and old Olympic rowing boats hanging from the ceiling, with confetti going off right there as they walked back down the aisle. From there it was out onto the balcony for photos and drinks, the river and the city skyline behind everyone all afternoon.

Ella & Rory's little boy was there for the whole day, and a cardboard cutout of their dog joined in too, on the table through the ceremony and still around for dinner, speeches and beyond. Indigo Highway kept the dancing going well into the night.

If you're looking for a documentary wedding photographer to capture your day, I'd love to hear from you. I've still got some availability for any last-minute 2026 weddings, and I'm booking 2027 and 2028 now.

A day in London Town exploring the city in black cabs and red double deckers. A complete treat for the wedding guests. I do love a city wedding. Town Hall and an industrial restaurant dinner with a party downstairs, check.
