Uk Rap songs you should know 🇬🇧

Back in 2002 Black Twang @blakzilla @officialblaktwang dropped “So Rotton” and this wasn’t some song that was around for a couple weeks then fell off, this song stuck around for a good few years and still gets played today. Black Twang is one of our early Uk Hip Hop legends ans can’t be forgotten, go check out the song and the artist!

STREAMING NOW AND VINYL ON BANDCAMP

J Littles returns with “FOUND”, his third full-length release on Noel & Poland Records. This follows the raw intensity of his debut MASSA and his uncompromising sophomore FURTHERMORE.

FOUND marks both a personal shift and a creative evolution.

Rooted in a newfound sense of faith and purpose, FOUND sees Littles continuing to navigate identity, struggle, and redemption without losing the grit that defines his sound. Razor sharp lyricism is still front and centre — unfiltered, streetwise, and deeply introspective — but now layered with a sense of reflection and clarity that elevates his storytelling into new territory.

Produced entirely by label owner Kong The Artisan, whose soulfully textured, hard-hitting soundscapes provide the perfect backdrop for Littles’ balance of vulnerability and edge.

FOUND isn’t about leaving the past behind — it’s about confronting it, redefining it, and stepping forward with purpose.

Huge thanks to all the amazing artists and contributors involved:

Sending a massive happy birthday to the certified LEGEND Tony Rotton @officialblaktwang!!!!!!

Yknow what tho! What!!? I’ll tell u what.

My favourite Hip Hop artist to come out of the UK, Tony is an OG and ticks all the boxes that qualifies a top tier artist.

Catalog. From day ONE, all the music Tony has put out has been superlative. Dettwork SouthEast STILL stands up to this day next to new releases in my sets, thru to anthems like So Rotton and the whole Kik Off album and beyond. He has straight CLASSICS. I couldn’t actually decide which songs of his to put with this post 😆!!! So I took it back to the record that introduced me to Blak Twang.

Just a couple months ago, listening to his verse on @jlittlesmusic new song ‘Know About Me’ he proves he remains an incredible MC, and when I say MC, I mean MC! Lyrics, delivery, content, flow, voice. All have always been undeniable fire. He can still spar with ANY MC today worldwide.

He has always shown love to other artists and put MANY people on and elevated their careers. It still remains a proud moment in my career that Tony allowed me to DJ for him when he supported Public Enemy in Brighton. It makes me emotional even now thinking about having such an opportunity 😊

Wicked stage performer, consummate professional, star quality and top bloke. Tony has contributed SO MUCH to UK music and I’m not saying just Hip Hop but UK music overall. He has helped legitimise us as a community, brought so much joy to so many lives and has made an indelible mark on UK music.

There is zero part of Tony’s career spanning 30+ years that you can fault. Some of my favourite records to come out of this country are from his catalog.

I’m so appreciative and grateful to you for all your hard, relentless work, being a pillar for us and UK music and I feel so lucky to know you.

You are a bonafide star! Thank you and Happy Birthday big bro!!!!! ❤️
