Inspired by @bitchin_film ‘s new zine release, I decided to revisit an old issue of #truckstopsk8zine whilst home taking care of my dog. Issue 5 was something else. We were getting a lot of skateboarding done. Picked up respected advertisers like #torqueskateboards and getting submissions internationally. Lots of stuff in the mailbox everyday. I’ve had a hard time putting this up since the loss of a dear loved one last month. I haven’t felt right since and have had a hard time accepting it to be honest. I know my brothers and sisters feel the same. Loss at times makes it difficult to be inspired to do anything much less hold it together day to day around your immediate family and circle. Unfortunately, we’ve lost one of the real ones. Kip Street was someone that I could never speak highly enough of and someone we’ll never replace. He was my brother, my mentor and one of my closest friends and I know for a fact that I’m not alone in stating this. He was a son, brother, father, grandfather and friend to many. He was a true and free trapping spirit, a humble, master craftsman, woodworker and artist, an expert waterman, hunter, angler, athlete and gardener. A self sustainable man of the woods and water. He was highly spiritual, insightful, warm and wise but still tough as nails and rugged as all hell. All these fine descriptions look great describing him and are all very much true but as I’m writing them down right now these words don’t feel like they even come close to bringing justice to how special he genuinly was. The Street family pulled me from a dark place years ago and took me into their world and into their family. It changed my life for the better, helped shape my values, my music, my abilities and my purpose. I’ll never forget it. It’s hard to find the words right now to explain the hole in our hearts and the lack of light in our lives that Kippy gave to all of us. I’ll always miss you my brother. Our pursuit, talks, the lessons, the laughs. I still find myself wanting to call you on the way to the water. Probably always will. Still gonna build them rocking chairs we were supposed to grow old in…. I’ll see you soon on the other side my friend. Till then, Catch em up and rest easy.

I had so much fun this week w my sweetie building the soil in our garden beds w compost, composted manure, topsoil and organic garden tone fertilizer, tilling the soil, raking in the dank yummies, and then topping the beds off with layers of raked leaves. The leaves act as mulch and protect the soil & retain the moisture, while the lower leaf layers break down and add nourishment and material to the soil underneath. All before the weekend rain hits 💦💦💦 It may not look like much now, but I’m so excited for spring planting! 🌱

Old dog catching a breath after knocking some rust off the hinges. Spent most of the day shooting some stuff starting with @j_pauletich in our hometown before rallying with @gus_coronel to head down the hill. Met up with pals @salmon_bloodwizard and Jake from Lonely Kings. The day before yesterday I took some runs for the first time in what could’ve been 5-6 years… maybe more. Came down on my tailbone, busted up elbows and knees but it was that old familiar pain that wakes us up, humbles us and makes us feel alive. Yesterday stretched a bit and got back out to do this for a new lil video deal for @hotwatermusicofficial Stoked to see the outcome. Strayed from it far too long but certainly reminded of how important it is to take care of our bodies, keep healthy, keep limber and most of all keep moving. May take a minute but I could probably get conditioned again. Thank you Jill, Emile, Jake and Gus and of course the whole gang who put a fire under my ass. Couldn’t have done it without you. #hotwatermusic
