In honour of the Doomsday trailer dropping, the team and I thought we’d give you a small glimpse of what’s to come with White Noise.

This marks the halfway point of production, with the final chapter set to shoot this August.

And yes—the teaser is in black and white. The film itself is in colour… but we’re not giving too much away just yet.

There’s something special about finding people who understand the parts of you that have never quite fit anywhere else.

For as long as I can remember, the idea of writing and directing have seemed an escape for me. I’ve always been drawn to creating characters who are deeply misunderstood, flawed, and complex—perhaps because I’ve felt that way myself. Through film, I’ve found a way to explore those feelings and turn them into something tangible.

What makes that possible are the people around me. My friends continue to trust me with their time, talent, and belief, and in return I try to create work worthy of that trust. The moment the camera rolls, the boom is raised, the actors step into character, and every department falls into rhythm with one another, something special happens. Whether that work is seen by a major festival audience, a handful of people on Instagram, or just friends and family, it’s still art. And I love that.

White Noise is the first long-form short film I’ve written and directed. Every frame of it has been built with care, passion, and the collective effort of incredibly talented people. The scene above is one that won’t be seen in its entirety in the final cut, but I couldn’t let it disappear unseen. When every element—performance, cinematography, costume, makeup, sound, and story—comes together in harmony, it deserves to be shared.

White Noise is a study of trauma—of how it loops, repeats, and reshapes itself through addiction, abuse, and the environments people are forced to survive in. It looks at the reasons behind behaviour, the weight of belief, and the conditions that can lead someone toward breaking point. More than anything, it’s an attempt to understand rather than judge, and I hope it resonates in that way.

I really can’t overstate how much work went into building the world of familiar stranger. This was easily my biggest production to date, and seeing the way you guys connected with it has made every second worth it.

I know this isn’t the easiest song to sit with. It asks you to confront the ugliest parts of yourself in the same way I had to while making it. But those of you who were ready for that conversation seemed to really get what you needed out of it, and that means more to me than you could know.

It reminds me my goal isn’t to make songs people consume and forget five minutes later. It’s to make art that resonates deeply enough to help people understand themselves a little better.

So to everybody who listened, shared, reflected, messaged me, reposted, or helped bring this world to life — thank you.

We made something special.
