4 years ago I began work on something called NO NV. Life has since taken me in a different direction, but despite the many plans that never came to fruition, something really beautiful did come out of that intense period of ideation. In 2023, I put together a zine with art created by my friends and family. prose, poetry, art, quotes that mean a lot to me, photography and an interview. Community is mad important to me, and NO NV (No Envy) was created with the belief that to see your neighbour succeed, is for you to succeed. It’s to understand that we can’t do this alone and it’s the promise that at this table, everybody eats. A huge thank you to everyone that contributed, sorry it took so long: @indiaduffy @indiana.jones_x @izzyheaton_ @blankfacebails @myselfblaize @thediaryofdaze @sheree_john @malaikamunshi @mollyburrowsart @kam__man @iamkia.k @yoshimitzuh @tajhame @benny.fisanotti @alidadafkhami @iamthe1percenter link in bio for the full zine

Nemzzz, Slew and Joe James turn up the volume for Stone Island. This past weekend saw Stone Island Sound arrive in London with Friendly Pressure: Studio One, part of the wider programme of events the brand are hosting alongside Selfridges. Taking over the Old Selfridges Hotel for three days, the space was built around a custom sound system by London’s Friendly Pressure. Given how much attention Stone Island put into materials and construction, it makes sense that the same thinking would extend to the speakers. Naturally, Nemzzz, Slew and Joe James were the names that caught my attention. Nemzzz and Slew joined Parked Up and Asian Brat for Friday’s People Pleasers afterparty, following a Paix Per Mil takeover with Yves, IOAH, Oli XL and Mechatok. Saturday saw Charlotte Day Wilson perform alongside a vinyl signing, before Asian Paper brought together The Twins, Amil Raja, Jeremiah Jim & Arran Ashan, Meyy, and Amane & Cola. Joe James joined Errol, Tailor Jae and Blankfacebails for Sunday’s Errol Presents session, with Knuckledust, Higher Power and Dynamite closing the weekend through Concrete Culture. Look, what’s lovely to see is how much ground that covers. From rap and soul to electronic music and hardcore, there’s an understanding that the people wearing Stone Island have different tastes, interests and reasons for finding the brand in the first place. Much like The Collector Series happening alongside it at Selfridges, this continues that work of embracing the community and giving people a platform. Whether that’s someone who has spent years preserving the archive or an artist bringing their own audience into the room.

Errol & (@errol.and, get it?) will be an amorphous space for that. If you're interested subscribe to my forthcoming newsletter — ideas, writing, gig updates and other things as they emerge.
