Meet The Artist: @Blast.Studio for One Triton Square, commissioned by @BritishLandplc & Royal London Asset Management

Blast Studio is a London-based practice founded in 2018 by Paola Garnousset, Martin Detoeuf and Pierre de Pingon. The studio transforms urban waste into innovative biomaterials, furniture and architectural forms, blending nature, technology and design. From working with mycelium to developing Cupsan - a sustainable material made from discarded coffee cups - their work bridges research, craft and production. Accolades include the French Académie des Beaux-Arts’ Prix d'Encouragement en Architecture (2020), New Talent at the Surface Design Show (2022), @LoeweFoundation Craft Prize finalist (2022) and @HouseandGardenuk Rising Stars of Design (2023).

NeoTrees series, 2025

Created for One Triton Square, the works combine generative algorithms, 3D printing and mycelium cultivation. Using a substrate made from recycled coffee cups collected on site, each piece is printed, inoculated with mycelium and grown into organic structures before being dried.

The forms balance digital intention with biological unpredictability, intricate, tactile sculptures shaped by both algorithm and organism. Together they imagine a future where architecture works with living systems, not against them.

New Public Curates: a permanent site-specific art programme for One Triton Square at @regentsplace, London’s Newest Hub for Innovation and Culture

Commissioned by @britishlandplc & Royal London Asset Management, curated by @newpublicprojects.

Right in the centre of the Knowledge Quarter, surrounded by world-leading thinkers, makers, researchers and cultural institutions such as @thefranciscrickinstitute, @wellcometrust and @ucl, One Triton Square is imagined as a launchpad for the industries of tomorrow. A building where art, science and technology meet.

We curated 10 artists and 25 artworks across the ground, first and sixth floors, creating a cultural layer woven into the fabric of the building. Together, the works explore networks, nature, innovation, data, materiality and the interconnected worlds of scientific and artistic discovery.

A major new commission by @anickayi_studio (and her first permanent work in the UK) anchors the ground floor. She’s joined by brilliant artists from @cockpitstudios and @blast.studio, each bringing their own artistry, research and craft to the space.

The result is a building with its own distinctive identity, one that sparks curiosity, enriches the workplace and mirrors the spirit of collaboration.

Huge thanks to the incredible artists, our clients and partners on this project: @britishlandplc, @Britishland.workspace, Royal London Asset Management, @KateBryan_art @CockpitStudios, @ThisIsStorey, @anickayi_studio @blast.studio @inthegrainn @majeda_clarke @richardmcvetis @eleanorlakelin @tamsinvanessen @helenjohceramics @saradoddceramics @hmsear
