Had an excellent trip down to Flanders for the All Air-Cooled Gathering. First time taking my own rig down and got to convoy with pops @burlyhammer on his maiden Jersey voyage in the ‘59 Walkthru. Couple of breakdowns (I’m ready for electronic ignition) but I got to drive nearly 1000 miles this weekend without ending up on a tow truck and am pretty damn stoked about that

Taking the back roads to Columbia, South Carolina a couple weeks ago, I came across this super cool place in Estill, South Carolina. Located on Hwy 321 is the former Gulf Oil gas station. It has been repurposed into a restaurant named the Stack Station. They were completing the finishing touches when I stumbled across it but have read it has recently opened. Hop in your vintage ride and make the drive to check it out. I’m looking forward to visiting again 🏁🏁🏁

FLANDERS AIR-COOLED GATHERING BABY. This has to have been the best birthday week I've ever had, I'm feeling incredibly grateful to be where I'm at turning 30. Really enjoyed my birthday party and having so many friends together for some shenanigans, the beetle ball regalia was a success, my car guy friends gave me roses, I wore a tiny sheriffs hat, there was also a duck there, real gangster shit, thanks guys. The following weekend I went down to Flanders New Jersey for the air-cooled gathering show, which truly is my favorite VW event every year. @vwsb1970 drove out in his squareback from Utica and we cruised down together, made a few unexpected stops on the way, had the paradise brothers gift me a split beetle tail light they found at the Ballston spa truck show, thanks guys 🙏🏽, we had a bunch of fun. I saw so many good friends at the air-cooled gathering and spent so much time catching up I barely took any good pictures, it was so nice, and I really appreciate the unexpected amount of birthday wishes I received from many people there. I cannot thank enough all of the kind people who have stuck their necks out for me taking a chance on my craftsmanship and character and letting me show them that some of the old ways of doing things and living life are still the best in this technologically arrogant and cold society we're living in, honesty and kindness can be the most powerful tools to harness. I have such a unique array of people that I know and if I can offer life advice to anyone, its to spend alot of time with the people you love, don't be convinced that your problems are created by other people because they seem different, don't let yourself fall prey to tribalism, two party politics are based in lies, don't judge a book by it's cover, give people a chance like many have given me, don't let yourself see someone as worth less because you've been told to. If you want something in life, just go for it, so many things are within your grasp if you're willing to fight for them. I am so glad I spent all of these years eating peanut butter and jelly, sticking to my guns, and working hard. Thanks everyone for betting on the underdog, it's all downhill from here.
