Freehand Cover-up / blast-over for Simon.

Simon came in with these two bands and the existing linework on his shin. He didn’t want to go for a full blackout, but instead wanted to play with new forms and create something more graphic.

It’s not the easiest setup to work with, especially with two bands sitting this far apart, as they naturally interrupt the flow of the leg. But I think we managed to turn the existing layout into something that feels cohesive and works with the shape of the leg.

The greywash on the shin is fresh here and will soften and lighten up once healed.

A big blast-over project for my bro, currently in progress.
Working with what’s already there, rethinking the composition and building something completely new on top of the old ink.
It’s a long process, but that’s what makes projects like this so rewarding.
More to come.
