August 26, 2025:

Taylor Swift: Shows off huge engagement ring 💍
International Flashing Awareness Day: Hold my beer🍺

Seeing feeds light up bright orange was the highlight of our week! The creativity and energy make this initiative not just fun, but impactful.

Huge thanks to @bigdogconstruction.gm and @bigdoglifelex3 for driving it forward—and to everyone in the community who participates and shares: you ROCK!

And yes…Taylor’s ring technically made it into the collage. We lost track once it was in. But @kalithecontractor’s leg kick? Impossible to miss.

Wrapped up this railing install. Never saw the before but was told the after is quite a statement. Curved transition and return made up in the shop. Iron balusters and no shoes looks clean.

Ipe—beautiful and enduring, but tough as nails to work with. Edge fastening with CAMO Pro Guides is an easy way to get a fastener-free deck surface with Ipe decking. However, a pre-drill process is necessary given the hardness of the wood.

Easy peasy, no bells and whistles here. Equal parts gluten free flour and gluten free beer. Salt, pepper, and dashes of cayenne and chili. Fried in a cast iron pan with avocado oil. I guess the only hard part was digging for the fresh clams and shucking them. #worthit #happysaturday #nofilterneeded

[SOUND ON] “We need scheduling”, they said. “We don’t have time for training”, they said.
**
We wanted to share a little feature treat heading into the long weekend. Let’s talk project scheduling. Nailing this feature is hard - and keeping it simple is even harder. What most people say they want is usually not actually what they end up using.
**
So, we’ve done our best to design and build a dead simple way to track your project schedule, selection items, change orders, to-do’s, punchlists, and much more - in a dead simple Task interface. You can view these Tasks in list view or in calendar view. You can add sub-tasks to track progress, or keep it simple and just track the overall Task. Every Task has a conversation attached to it, so you always know who said what when. Plus, all of these Tasks are autonomous items, and will show up in your project feed just like posts and photos when changes are made or comments are added.
**
Coming to BuildBook on the web and our mobile apps early next week.

Let us know you think in the comments!!!

Today's shop project.
Shoehorn made from a locally harvested lilac (backyard). The color with lilac is unique and intense but not necessarily consistent. Not sure if the color will last, but hopefully it does. All of the knots seem to come through with a 3 dot pattern which is pretty cool.
It probably needs a hole and loop of leather to hang it up...maybe that'll come soon or on the next one.
Simple rubbed on oil and wax for the finish.

17 years of this lady being hitched to me. She's always amazing. Puts up with my childish antics. Stays positive. Follows me even when I don't know where I'm going. Thanks @lifeasleighb I'm looking forward to endless years together.
