I’m very grateful and excited to be included in this show at my alma mater with all these amazing artists! Long live G&G.

Guild & Greyshkul was an artist-run gallery founded by Anya Kielar, Johannes Vanderbeek, and Sara Vanderbeek, that I had the privilege of working at for many years.

The opening will take place this Wedsnesday, September 16th from 6-8PM.
Gallery hours are Tuesday - Saturday 12-6PM.

🍓 BLAZE BAG ALERT 🍓@blazelamperstudio might have moved away but her spirit and annual run of hand-painted bags live on. here’s what she had to say about the inspiration for her blaze berry bags: “it’s a berry, its seeds/tears/rain a burst, a bomb, a discreetly articulated party. just like you all.”

we just put up a very limited run on our site so get ‘em quick! each blaze berry bag is unique and the bag you receive will be a surprise. fun!!!

$50 of each blaze bag sale will go towards the trans revolutionary action network for new york (@tran4ny), an organization created by and for trans+ identified individuals, that believes in educating, equipping and accommodating trans+ people to effectively navigate an often hostile and transphobic environment both in new york city and further afield.

It’s been a pretty incredible year for friends and food so far. It might turn out to be the best yet. Who’s to say. Feeling very lucky. Om mani padme hum :)

Yesterday I had the privilege of attending the final service for Blaze at one of the restaurants I’ve returned to for years. What keeps me coming back isn’t just the food — it’s the people. The kind of hospitality that doesn’t need to announce itself. It simply is.

We’re in an era of one-and-done dining and instant opinions, rooms filled with phones instead of conversation. I’m not immune to the curiosity of something new, but places like 4H remind me why I fell in love with dining in New York in the first place — consistency, familiarity, being known.

Blaze, ten years is no small thing. Grateful for the warmth, the professionalism, and the quiet excellence you brought to the room. You’ll be missed. Wishing you only the best.

And what Nick and his team have created is something rare — a space that makes you feel like you’re in a room filled with friends. To see so many familiar faces, sharing bottles and laughter, is priceless. So grateful to be a part of it.

we have the best community and the best team ever. just shy of 2 weeks ago, @molly.oh had the idea to use our reach and their experience for good and host a food drive. we mobilized quickly and the team showed up in beautiful ways, from the painting @blazelamperstudio made for the flyer, to @pazxyz_ and @shannonhealion showing up with so much wine and food, Mollys chilli station ofc, to @zengroom and his rainbow cookies, ruby and brian joining the staff for the day to do whatever is needed, mar and max bringing so much wine, Nicole’s chocolate chip cookies that lasted all of 10 minutes, etc etc etc. @ohboy.bk coming by with a hotel pan full of burgers, @kimpaper bringing a giant bag right at opening, countless regulars and friends stopping by - some not even staying for wine, just contributing, @chatwithphilo bringing cheese suitcased from Paris, @zev_rovine donating a case of wine, and ofc @santemf playing the best tunes and bringing as much wine as he could carry, carina shuttling everything (2 full pallets!!) to city harvest today… on and on! There were so many people who contributed in ways that we didn’t even know or see. before the party even started there were several giant bags of groceries from various teammates who were working service last night. the Venmo donations are just shy of $1000.

WOW. for a 3 hour event that was planned on the fly, you guys SHOWED UP. we even danced to Madonna.

we just wanted to share what we were all able to do together and say thank you. we will do another one - stay tuned :)

Blaze Lamper grew up in California and Michigan. She received her BFA from The Cooper Union in 2005 and has since worked primarily in 2 dimensions using pencil, ink, acrylic paint and most recently oil. She makes paintings inspired by the rooftop and skyscape views from her third floor apartment in Ridgewood, Queens.
