APT @ BELLO BAR - JO JOHNSON JO JOHNSON is a lauded electronic musician whose musical path has serpentined from punk through techno to deeply affecting electronic minimalism. A former guitarist for the 90s radical punk band Huggy Bear, she later immersed herself in the London techno scene, joining the Bleep43 collective in 2001 and launching its label. For the last 12 years as a solo artist releasing mesmerising albums through revered labels such as Further Records and Quiet Details, alongside setting up her own imprint Silver Threads. A feature at such parties as No Way Back in Detroit and Free Rotation in Wales, Johnson has performed across the UK, Europe, Asia and America but is only now finally making her Irish debut with this exclusive live performance! Some of the great moments of 2025. Valorising the human and artistic connections I was invited for a first time by @Bleep43 for live visuals in both rooms at the @the.bath.house.hw, last October. Here’s an extract alongside @sybil_dj/ I’ve been loving Sybil DJ sets for years now and even collaborated with her, by using one of her mixes for the AV performance “Fragments”. It was the first we shared the same space and was a beautiful experience. Check the previous post, for the first part. Every so often a plum opportunity presents itself. The best ones are timeslips - for a few hours things can be turned on their heads and anything is possible: Ecstatic dancing at an immersive deep listening party? Sure. No mixing? Yup. We’ll just play wonky emotional bangers about joy? 100%! On Saturday 12th October that’s pretty much exactly what happened at The Baths in Hackney Wick, London. A few hundred of us joined together to dance for hours on end, but the communal release, the expression of love and joy ended up being so much more than that. This recording captures something of the spirit of that moment. We hope you can feel it as much as we did. Jo Johnson+ Plant43 Live at Compufunk 12/20 SAT  21:30pm - morning 2500 JPY Muzan Editions is thrilled to announce a special night at Compufunk featuring two of our absolute favorites: Jo Johnson and Plant43. The evening opens around 9:30pm with a live ambient performance by Jo Johnson, whose path has moved from 90s punk (as guitarist in Huggy Bear) through underground techno into a deeply expressive electronic minimalism. Later, Plant43 takes over with a live techno-electro set rooted in early electro and Drexciya-inspired machine funk. A co-founder of the Bleep43 collective, his releases span Ai Records, Semantica, and Cultivated Electronics — a sound shaped by decades inside underground dance culture. Joining them are DJ Morita, DJ Compufunk, Muzan's Endurance, and, from Tokyo, SBAT, with live painting by Running Man. Expect the night to move from deep listening to electrified movement, all the way to sunrise. The night also celebrates new releases from Jo Johnson, Plant43, and Endurance on Muzan - our first since last March - so when we say we're psyched we're PSYCHED!
