From deep brunette to dimensional brunette 🤎✨

Sometimes all your hair needs is a little contrast to bring it to life.

For this transformation, we added soft, lighter ribbons throughout her brunette to create contrast, movement, and that beautiful sun-kissed effect. The dimension catches the light in all the right places while keeping the overall look blended and wearable.

✨ Soft, sun-kissed highlights
✨ Multi-tonal dimension
✨ Seamless blending
✨ Natural-looking brightness

If you love the idea of adding lightness to your hair but aren’t ready to commit to blonde, this is your sign that you can have the best of both worlds. 🤎

18+ years in the beauty industry and apparently all it takes to make me ridiculously happy is a box of printed foils. 😂

Please tell me my fellow hairstylists understand this obsession.

Because the moment I saw "12 Days of Framar", I knew it would be a perfect addition to Blendology’s foil stash 🎄

And now that I've opened it? I have one complaint.

You expect me to look at these for the next six weeks and NOT use them?!

The self-control this is going to require. 😉

There's something about fun foils, beautiful packaging, and a little creativity behind the chair that will never get old to me.

Okay, hairstylists, serious question:

Are we actually waiting until December, or are we collectively agreeing that the rules are optional? 😂

Tag your foil-obsessed salon bestie, repost this to your Stories, and tell me I'm not alone.

@framar, you really know how to make a colorist happy. 🤍

The experience matters just as much as the hair. 🤎

From the moment you walk in, I want you to feel comfortable, cared for, and completely at home.

A thorough consultation. A plan that works with your hair and your real life. A space where you can relax, sip your coffee, chat, or just enjoy a little quiet time.

Beautiful, low-maintenance color is the goal… but feeling good while you’re here is part of it too.

Come as you are. Leave feeling refreshed. ✨

Brunette, but make it rich, glossy & dimensional 🤎✨

Dimensional color doesn’t always mean going lighter… sometimes it’s about adding depth, enhancing warmth, and creating the perfect blend of tones.

For this transformation, we took her from a lighter, warmer blonde to a rich brunette with soft caramel dimension. The goal was to create a deeper, more polished color while keeping those subtle ribbons of warmth that give the hair movement and dimension instead of looking flat or one-dimensional.

✨ Rich brunette tones
✨ Soft caramel dimension
✨ Glossy, blended finish
✨ Depth & movement throughout

If you’ve been wanting to go darker for fall but still love a little warmth and dimension, this is your sign. 🤎

When the blonde is so good, she has to document it herself. 🤳🏼✨

Nothing beats seeing my clients fall in love with their hair in real time.

A fresh blonde, a little extra confidence, and that feeling of leaving the salon looking like YOU, just brighter. 🤍

Sometimes the best color appointment is knowing when to do less. 🤎

She came in thinking balayage, but after chatting in person, we decided a soft face frame was the perfect place to start just enough brightness to make an impact while still feeling completely like her.

And if she wants more later? We build from here. ✨

“Extensions ruined my friends hair.”

It's one of the biggest fears I hear from women considering hair extensions and one of the reasons I'm so particular about my installations.

Because the hair nobody sees?
I care about that hair just as much as the finished transformation.

This client came into her IBE® installation with freshly trimmed, healthy ends. From there, my focus is creating a clean, intentional foundation based on her natural hair, her density, scalp, placement and what her hair can comfortably support.

Look closely at that underside.
Clean sections. Intentional placement. A meticulous foundation.

Those aren't details I'm doing because they look good on camera.

They're part of how I approach extension work.
My goal is never for your natural hair to simply make it through the months you're wearing extensions.
I want it thriving.

And that's also why I don't believe every woman belongs in the same extension method. I work with IBE®, K-Tips, Nano Tape, V-Light and Mesh Integration because the method should be chosen around the hair sitting in front of me, not the other way around.

After 18 years behind the chair, I can give you beautiful extensions.
But what I'm equally proud of?
The hair underneath them.

So if you've been searching for hair extensions in Naperville or Chicagoland but you're nervous about damage to your natural hair, DM me EXTENSIONS.

Let's talk about your hair first and then I'll determine what method actually makes sense for it.

And send this to the friend who still thinks extensions automatically = damaged hair.

Your appointment says highlights. Your hair may say otherwise.

And part of my responsibility as your colorist is knowing the difference.

There are times when a client sits in my chair wanting to be lighter and I recommend that we don't lighten certain areas or don't lighten at all that day.

That's not me being difficult.
That's expertise.

Lightener doesn't know that you have an event coming up or that you're determined to reach a certain inspiration photo.

I have to consider your hair's current condition, porosity, elasticity, previous chemical history, existing lightness, areas of overlap and what we're trying to accomplish long term.

Sometimes the most skilled color decision is knowing when to leave the hair alone.
And after 17+ years behind the chair, I'm comfortable making that call.

My goal isn't to make you as blonde as possible at every appointment.
It's to create beautiful, dimensional blonde while maintaining the integrity of your hair.

Because anyone can chase lighter.
Knowing how far the hair should go and when to stop is where experience matters.

So I'm curious:
If you booked a blonding appointment and your colorist told you she didn't recommend lightening your hair that day, would you trust her?
Tell me below. I genuinely want to know.
And if you have a blonde friend who needs to hear this, send this to her.

Looking for a blonding specialist in Naperville or Chicagoland who looks at the long-term health of your hair, not only today's result?

DM BLONDE to start a conversation.

Dimensional color doesn’t have to mean going blonde, it can mean adding the right amount of brightness, depth & movement to make your brunette feel completely different. 🤎✨

For this transformation, we added soft, dimensional highlights throughout her brunette base while keeping the overall color natural and blended. The goal was to create brighter pieces that flow seamlessly through the hair, add movement and dimension, and still leave her with that beautiful rich brunette feeling.

✨ Soft, blended brightness
✨ Natural-looking dimension
✨ Rich brunette depth
✨ Low-maintenance grow-out

If you’ve been thinking about adding some brightness to your brunette but don’t want to go too light, dimensional color can be the perfect way to change things up while still feeling like yourself. 🤎

I jokingly call K18 my “insurance policy” when I'm lightening a client's hair. 😂

Not because it means I can bleach the hell out of your hair and magically undo it afterward, absolutely not.
It's because when I'm asking a lot from your hair during a blonding or color service, I'm thinking just as much about protecting the integrity of your hair as I am about getting you to your dream color.

And K18 has become one of my non-negotiables behind the chair.

It's designed to work within the hair's keratin structure to help repair damage from things like bleach + color, chemical services and heat.

So when I'm working with hair that's already feeling compromised or we're doing a blonding service where I know we're asking more from the hair, I love incorporating K18 as a treatment.

Because after 17+ years behind the chair...
Getting you lighter isn't the impressive part.

Knowing when to push.

Knowing when to stop.

Knowing what your hair can realistically handle.

And having a plan to support its integrity while we get there?

THAT'S the part that matters.

I want the beautiful blonde.
I want the transformation.
I want the really freaking good after photo. 😂

But I want your hair to feel really good, too.
That's why you'll continue seeing me reach for K18 during my blonding + color services.

It's not just another product sitting on my station.
It's part of how I approach responsible blonding. 🤍
And if your blonde is currently feeling dry, fragile, compromised or like it's been through a little too much, let's talk before we ask it to do more.

DM me BLONDE and tell me what's going on with your hair. I'll help you figure out the best next step.

And send this to your blonde bestie who thinks the answer is “just bleach it one more time.” 😂
@k18hair . . . this one's staying in my arsenal.
