🍬 WHAT A NIGHT OF TRICKS, TREATS & TERRIFIC COMEDY! 🎃

You brought Pick N’ Mix to life at The Griffin, @griffin_glasgow and what a SPOOKY SPECTACULAR it was! 👻

A huge thank you to all our brilliant acts for absolutely smashing it, and to everyone who came along, especially all the new faces who joined our little comedy family. We had a frightfully funny time! 🖤

🏆 A special shoutout to Jessica Rabbit, who stole the show and won our BEST COSTUME COMPETITION! ❤️🐰

We’ll be back on the third Sunday of November with another deliciously weird mix of comedy, so keep your eyes peeled!

Got an act that’s mad, messy or magnificently weird? Pick N’ Mix wants YOU! Apply for our next show via link in bio.

🎃 MEET THE SPOOKY MIX! 👻

Five frightfully good flavours of comedy are heading to Pick N’ Mix for our SPOOKY SPECTACULAR this Sunday! We’ve been stirring up a wicked little concoction of stand-up, improv and clowning, and this one’s got treats in store. 🍬🧙

🍭 IN THIS MONTH’S MIX:

🎤 Jessie McGivern
An Irish storyteller with sharp observations, big what-ifs and a life left behind on the Emerald Isle.

🎭 Blether
Some of Glasgow’s funniest improvisers, ready to conjure up scenes, characters and comedy out of thin air. ✨

🎤 Dean T. Beirne
Sharp, cheeky stand-up exploring growing up in foster care, autism and LGBTQ+ life, with brilliant storytelling and a delightfully nerdy twist! 🦇

🤡 Polyesther
Clowning, cabaret, comedy and balloon modelling collide in a gloriously silly spectacle. Prepare to laugh, cringe and possibly question your relationship with balloons. 🎈💀

🤡 Jeff Khan
One of Glasgow’s finest clowns and co-host of That’s Clown! (@thatsthatco) Expect surreal silliness, mischievous energy and gloriously unpredictable comedy. 🎃🤡

🎭 Yes Leopard!
Glasgow’s women and non-binary improv team turn music into hilarious characters and scenes. Expect good tunes, unexpected turns and some wonderfully weird creations! 🎶👻

Sunday 18th October
 8–10pm
 The Griffin
266 Bath Street, Glasgow
G2 4JP

🕸️ We’re hosting a BEST COSTUME COMPETITION, with a prize for the most spooktacular get-up! So summon your alter ego, raid your dressing-up box and come ready to impress. 🏆🧙

🎟️ Fancy a frightfully funny Sunday? Grab your tickets in bio! 🍬

The House Arts Collective present:
“This House Has Hands” a Glasgow Art Weekend all-day closing party and performance extravaganza

——————————————————

What’s that I hear in the distance?

Approaching trumpeters? Magnificent fireworks display? A giant’s tummy rumbling hungry for fun? It must be the parade of talented performers coming to celebrate at Munn’s Vault 2pm-midnight this Sunday the 20th of September!

One thing we have learnt from running our community space in Maryhill over the course of the last three years is that many hands make light work. And boy you betcha we’ve got hands! Twenty pairs of them to be precise. And on Sunday these hands will be going wild, acting in ways you’ve never seen before, they’re just itching for fun! The tomato-breaking cake-leaking baby-making kind of fun!!

We have built an outdoor stage and invited 20 performers young and old, first-timers and pros, some soulful, some chuckleworthy, and some just simply bizarre. Expect acrobatics, magic, music, stand-up, improv, tap dancing, and much much more. We have a jampacked schedule running from two till midnight and we can guarantee there will be something for everyone. Running alongside the performances will be karaoke inside from 5-9pm and DJs performing from 10-12pm.

Tickets are found in The House and Healthy insta bios and are available on a sliding scale from £5 for those who plan to just pop in or are skint, £7 to stay a couple hours and £10 for the whole extravaganza!

Munn’s Vault is a cash-only pub so please bring bills (although there’s a cash machine across the road too if you forget).

Let’s have a drink and celebrate three years of the House and the start of events at Munn’s Vaults insane beer garden!

Love,
the House (and its many hands) 🙌🏽

That was such a fun show last night! Thanks again to all our performers - Blether, Swalley Cats and Wee Jambo! We all learned a lot about the Bee Gees and Freddy Krueger.

See you back at the Govanhill Neighbourhood Centre next week for our monthly shortform jam!
