There were a lot of things happening last week, including the Axean Festival, DJ Contest, the Longest Table record attempt and Gado Gado sadly burning to the ground. What's next. We have it all inside this week's editorial. Excerpts, and not by AI. There is no doubt we need some rain soon. According to my sources we are in the grips of an El Nino year, which means for us a dry season. I must admit after last year’s eternal wet season a bit of dry will not go amiss, but as we saw this week with the many fires around town, it must be a good time for a downpour. I was greatly saddened by the news of Gado Gado catching fire and burning down last Sunday night. And not just me, there was a massive outpouring of grief from all over the region for the old place. Gado-Gado has had quite a history over the decades..... Friday evening, from sunset, The Longest Table record attempt was happening out the front and on the beach of Le Bleu Beachfront Restaurant. Right between the two islands of Nusa Dua Beach, an enormous table of approximately 60 metres length was set up to accommodate 120 people. I was fortunate enough to be one of them.... AXEAN Festival was in town last weekend. Held at Jimbaran Hub for the third time. We arrived early Sunday evening and the place was buzzing and busy. Jimbaran Hub is a great venue for such an event, with a multitude of spaces, nooks and crannies to fit the performers and audience. There were a lot of foreigners in the crowd..... DIG OF THE DAY #026 Peace Division – What Is This Sound (2005) I was digging through some old records today and came across this gem. Honestly, if you played this in a club today without telling anyone the release year, most people would probably think it’s a brand new track. The groove, the drums, the bassline, and the overall production still feel incredibly fresh. It’s one of those timeless records that proves great house music doesn’t age, it just keeps inspiring new generations. What’s one timeless house track that deserves to be rediscovered? Drop it below, I might feature your pick in the next Dig of the Day. 👇
