POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

@blackbritishculture The accusations against Jason Arday made international headlines. Yet the latest report that another investigation has not substantiated plagiarism allegations has received little coverage in the news sources we checked.

Arday became Cambridge’s youngest Black professor in
2023. He denied deliberate wrongdoing, and an earlier investigation into his PhD did not uphold the plagiarism charges. He resigned on 5 August 2026 and died nine days later, aged 41. His family said he had endured sustained abuse aimed at undermining him.

Now, Byline Times reports that academic publisher Taylor & Francis has completed another investigation into one of his papers without substantiating plagiarism allegations.

Where is the same energy for this finding? If allegations deserve headlines, findings in his favour deserve them too.
Jason deserved fairness while he was alive. His family should not have to fight for people to hear this part of the story.

All these years, and somehow, still just the beginning.

Rev. Edward Nalwamba, a 78-year-old Ugandan priest who spent years caring for people with disabilities in Colorado, was carried out of an ICE detention facility by two fellow detainees following his court-ordered release.

Before his detention 13 months ago, he was physically active and walked independently. Today, he requires assistance to walk.

His attorney says he lost more than 30 pounds, suffered pneumonia and received inadequate treatment for an ongoing respiratory illness. DHS disputes allegations of inadequate medical care.

Nalwamba says staff would not allow him to use a wheelchair beyond the facility gate.

Although a federal judge ordered his release, his immigration case remains unresolved, and his attorney fears he could be detained again.

@taaforg has shared this statement following reports of an alleged mass shooting plot targeting the Sri Venkateswara Swami Temple in Aurora, Illinois.

The post brings together figures from Stop AAPI Hate, Asian Americans Advancing Justice, and the Center for the Study of Organized Hate on anti-South Asian abuse, threats, and anti-Hindu hate crimes.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers allegedly competed in a group chat to see who could pull over the most Black drivers.

What reasons did they give for those stops in their official reports?

How many led to charges or conviction, and what happens now to the people affected?

The group chat needs to be read alongside the paperwork.

Two works from my ongoing Diagram Studies — Anti-Blackness, The Blueprint and Black × South Asian Proximity Isn’t Solidarity — appear in Mute Points: Wandering Reflections on Afro-Asian Solidarity by Kandis Williams (@kandis_williams) published by Montez Press (@montezpress).

The essay explores the tensions and contradictions of Afro-Asian solidarity, particularly the difficulty of holding histories together that are entangled but not identical.

Developed through conversations and research with the BlindianProject community, the diagrams continue to find their way into new contexts, questions and conversations.
