Winter making a reappearance in the Glen has made me look back on probably my favourite hill day of the season. A claggy walk up turned into a star-lit summit camp and was followed by a snowy ridge stomp the next morning. Plus digging down through a frozen loch to get water. A proper winter adventure!

A side ways rain and snow day in the Cairngorms for day two with the Scouts Association.

We'd focused on axe and crampon skills yesterday but with the heavy wind and precipitation forecast today we focused on leadership and looking after one and other.

A useful lesson was getting everyone to close their eyes and using their hands give a comfort score out of 5. This revealed that a few of the "yeah I'm fines" weren't so fine and we adapted the day accordingly - everyone in the first photo said they were doing ok...

A cracking weekend working for @atlasmountaineering on a 2 day winter skills course.
With high winds forecast we opted for good views and calm conditions on Ben Nevis on Saturday and a shelter walk towards Stob Ban on what was supposed to be a windy Sunday.
The nasty weather never arrived and we enjoyed wall to wall frozen views across Lochaber and Glencoe 👌

Just wrapped up an amazing summit and skills course with a talented bunch for @atlasmountaineering 🏔️ Smashed out Ben Nevis yesterday and honed our skills on Stob Ban today. Feeling very lucky to have made the most out of the last bit of the good weather! 🏔️

🏔️It’s been a busy winter!❄️

I started off with a winter round of the Fisherfield 6 🏔️ 🏃‍♂️. Just a standard day for @rocksandtrails who I accompanied on a testing outing up in Assynt on her inspiring winter munro round. 🌨️

Most of my time was spent working towards the @mtntraining Winter Mountain Leader qualification 🏔📜. I completed my WML training in a very cold week (-23℃ with windchill 🥶) which was a great experience and learned lots. I went on to assessment and passed! 🥳Thanks to @sotrg for making the process enjoyable!👨‍🎓

I got in some great personal winter climbing days and some brilliant adventures with a fair few folk despite the thaws.❄️🫠

No Scottish ski days for me this year but hopefully next year I can get back to it.🎿

I’m now a trainee on the @dundonnell_mountain_rescue and have started the year long training process. ⛑

🌱Spring is here and I’m focusing on running and scrambling, with a couple of bigger days lined up. ⛰🏃‍♂️⛰ 🤤

Keen on getting more rock climbing in this summer so give me a message if you need someone to hold a rope. 🧗‍♂️

I’m on the look out for Mountian Leader work so if you know of anything let me know, ta! 👀

⛰️See you out on the hills. 🤟

@blizzard_buc - sometimes I am in awe of my intrepid daughter, following her dreams, living for experience, not things. She has taught me much. #gratitude #daughter
