#SoulSoiree has done it again! Last week, I witnessed an epic story that yes, it NEEDS to - Yes, it MUST - and Yes, it WILL be made. The blending of African and European religion to tell an epic story of Victory incarnate, and getting back to one's self was in itself a glorious journey to be a witness to. Ngozi Anyanwu is a playwright of the ages and for the ages. And every actor that brought her words to life themselves immortalized their essence through their talent and gravitas. Kara Young, as the eponymous Goddess of Victory, Adenike/Nike, had everyone on the edge of their seats. I need more of this magic and art, with as many talented people as the ones I saw that night, now and forever.

A Note from BEN VEREEN Celebrating the CREATIVE SUMMER SOCIAL!

Greetings @chichimgr2020
@yesitsezraezzard and ALL..

My deepest gratitude to Melony, ChiChi Anyanwu, Ezra Ezzard, and every gifted artist who filled that rooftop with such warmth, fellowship, and creative fire.

I arrived believing I was coming simply to support a new generation, but I left inspired, humbled, and deeply moved. As you formed that pathway and applauded, the Elder in me looked upon the Seekers—and I knew that the future of Black theatre and the arts is in beautiful, powerful hands.

Keep creating. Keep lifting one another. Keep walking boldly in the footsteps of the ancestors while leaving footprints of your own.

The torch is not being passed—it is multiplying.

With love and gratitude to you all.

Ben Vereen 🙏🏾❤️

(Melony, This is what I wanna post. I don’t know how I’m not that tech guy can you help me good morning😂👨🏾‍🦳😂)

You were not created for consumption.
You were created for connection, care, calling, community, collaboration, contribution, and credit.

Creativity is more than content. There is a person, a process, and a story behind the work.

For generations, Black creativity has been stolen, copied, renamed, repackaged, commercialized, and celebrated while the people who created it were overlooked, underpaid, or erased from the story.

We want to make sure the creator is never lost behind the creation.

Put us on. Tag a creative whose work and story deserve to be seen.
