“Keep moving forward…
Watch out for them potholes.

And don’t ever, EVER look back in that rear view mirror.

They jus’ tryna remind you where you’ve been, ignoring where you going.

Oh, and one more thing—

If you ever go back to them old places… you destroy them or they gon’ destroy you.” -Regina King

This began as a poem for this little boy who I adore, but it became something much bigger in my heart.
Watching children exist so freely reminds me of the millions of children around the world who are being denied that same innocence because of gen0c!d3, d!splacement, and war. Children in pa!estine, $udan, l3banon, Myanmar, c0ngo, Eth!opia, and beyond deserve tenderness too.

Every child deserves softness.
Every child deserves safety.
Every child deserves the chance to simply be a child.

I’m so grateful to be able to relive my childhood through the children I serve everyday ❤️
