Never not proud 🥹… it is so fun to see Z develop relationships with the younger singers in the program. Looking back, she looked up to so many of the “older” kids. Paramore was fun.

So what if Hike Squad hike #5 turned into a spot of shopping (for ourselves) and munching on baked goods while sharing all the ways we eat our cottage cheese 😉 We Do Not Care. We’re just out here living our best lives.

Hike Squad #1 in the bag! I created a little community. A community for female-identifying folks who want to carve out an hour or two each month to turn off their phone, take off their mum-hat or their job-hat or their wife-hat (or all 3!) and just... be.

We women are such powerful carers and givers. We're really good at it. But we often forget ourselves in all the caring and then we become not quite as good at it, or we start to resent it, or we just burn ourselves out. It's a shit cycle that maybe we can try and break?

As I head towards an empty nest this year I have time to consider what my new purpose will be and I'm relishing the prospect of more time for me. And in that, I'm realizing that it's amazing what we can achieve when we are good to ourselves.

It's just a couple of hours each month, but today we proved to ourselves that two hours is a MOUNTAIN of time to fill our tank. Fresh air, movement, new friends, chit chat. Proper tank-filling time. It was lush.

If you want to join next month's hike, let me know and I'll ping you the details. Let's break the shit-cycle and chose a little self-care ❤️
