where are your troubles now?💋 The Kit Kat Klub has officially closed and what an absolute honor it has been to not only be a part of this legendary musical, but to help truthfully represent the horrid past of our world. Being in Cabaret has helped me grow as an artist and individual. I always pride myself on being someone who uses my platform and art to raise awareness and amplify unheard voices and now I much more deeply understand how truly detrimental it is to be complacent as a community and society and only take action when the harm is inflicted upon you or a community you belong to. We MUST educate ourselves, educate our peers, educate our loved ones, and go further and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. I extend so much gratitude and have the utmost respect for my director, Rachel Dawson (@rachelwdawson ) for seeing me, this cast, this story, and pursuing it. You helped make such an impact in just 5 weeks and the work you produced was so complex and beautiful. Special thanks to this perfectly marvelously talented cast for lending your voices, bodies, and overall presence to such a piece. Thank you to the crew for your insanely hard work during every second of the show. Thank you to the creative team for your dedication to making sure this story was told efficiently and keeping us grounded through it all. Willkommen 🎩💋 I would say I don’t have words for this show, but that would be an egregious lie. This show means the world to me for so many different reasons. When I got cast as the Emcee, I knew that I wanted to pay tribute to the hundreds of thousands of trans women, trans men, and queer people that were incarcerated and/or murdered during this horrendous period. I wanted my emcee to be a love letter to trans women with the hope of showcasing all the authentic parts of myself because not all trans women got to/get to live their lives as they wish, and being able to represent a community who is currently facing such an egregious amount of discrimination over our sheer existence has felt as vulnerable as it has liberating. I hope that my goal was clear, and I hope that those who came to see the show heeded the warning that if you aren’t against all of the atrocities going on right now, then you’re for it. To the crew/creative team: You really were the foundation of this production and none of what we as the cast did could have been possible without all of you. From lights, to costumes, to sound, you helped us to fully encapsulate this beautiful work and make a statement that matters now more than ever. Thank you 💕 Finally, to the cast, Rachel, Kelly, Tracy: There are not enough words in my vocabulary to accurately express my gratitude for each and every one of you. Never in my life have I felt more welcomed, more understood, more LOVED than my time here both as a performer and as a person. I’m so grateful for the music, the dancing, the stories, the laughter, the memories, the friendships I made. Thank you for reminding me that I am enough, and that I am worthy of taking up space and being unafraid to be myself and to love and be loved. I love you all. "You see some people have two people 😏" What a way to start my Winthrop journey. I was so blessed to be able to work with the cast and crew to put on this beautifully devastating story. Playing lulu gave me such a new perspective on not everything being how it seems. Cabaret is a show that will stick with me for life because of how much care and attention to detail was put into this wonderful production. Cabaret teaches you the danger of being a passive bystander and the cause of it. It teaches you how willfully being ignorant eventually falls back on it. Instead of sitting by be the change that you want to see in the world. Thank you Cabaret for all of the lessons and joy you brought me. Cabaret 👠🎩✨🍍🥂🍸🎭🪭🎙️ What an absolute pleasure it was to have the privilege of working on such an incredible show with such amazing people. So much talent and effort went into bringing this show to life, and I am so proud of everyone who poured their soul out on stage. This was such an incredibly powerful and impactful show that was absolutely devastating for everyone involved. It was so crucial that every facet of this show be portrayed as truthfully as it possibly could, which was of course such a challenge for everyone. We put everything we had into this show and I am so happy with the way everything turned out. I truly hope we managed to touch the hearts of everyone who came and saw the show. To everyone involved in the creation of this show: thank you so much for such an amazing experience. It was absolutely remarkable working with each and every one of you to tell this incredible story. I will cherish the memories from this process forever, and it has truly been an honor bringing this show to life. To everyone who came to see us: thank you for your incredible support.
