full circle…💙🐾

this moment feels unreal… like I’m looking at these pictures and asking myself, “who is that?” because I remember a completely different version of me standing in this same place.

I remember cheering in this stadium… not realizing I was building something so much bigger for myself at the same time. I had my first graduation here—earning my associate’s degree before I even had my high school diploma.
then my bachelor’s. time in between to figure life out, navigate everything that came with that.
and now… my Juris Doctor.

my entire academic journey—built right here at Georgia State. triple panther. first-generation law student. and when I really sit with that… it’s overwhelming in the best way. because this moment represents everything. every yes. every no. every opportunity. every rejection. every time someone believed in me. every time someone doubted me. every dollar spent. every tear cried. every time I had to keep going when I didn’t think I had anything left. it all came together here.

this isn’t just an ending… it’s a reflection of everything it took to get here and everything that’s still ahead of me. and for the first time in a long time… I don’t have everything planned out.
and I’m okay with that. I’m not scared. I’m not worried. I know what’s for me is going to find me.
so for now… I’m going to sit in this moment. enjoy it. celebrate it. fully.

because I earned that.

The GABWA Blue Jean Brunch never disappoints……..but this year? It truly showed out!

As one of the biggest student networking events of the year, it was incredible to see so many law students and attorneys in one space, connecting, encouraging, and pouring into one another. We had even more attendees than last year, and knowing that my outreach as Student Member-at-Large helped make that happen means everything to me.

Whether it was a message, a reminder, or just showing up for students across different schools…every bit of effort was worth it. Even if I only brought in a small percentage, every single person had a seat at the table, and that’s what matters.

The day was filled with inspiration, encouragement, and endless reminders of what’s possible in this profession. I left feeling so full…like I always do after a GABWA event.

Special thanks to Judge Hatchett and all of the incredible attorneys who spoke life into us that day. Your words landed.💜

Whew………let me tell you, it’s a doozy sitting back at a BLSA event for once 😅 I’m still getting used to it!

I pulled up to one of the Georgia State University BLSA Week events and was so pleasantly surprised to see past chapter leaders and trailblazers Sakia Delaney and Jarvarus Gresham on the panel…two people who laid so much of the groundwork we’re still building on today.

Joined by Tessola Duncan, Emory Thompson, and Andrea Glaze, this panel was more than just informative…it was real. Every attorney on that stage shared their journey in such a genuine, down-to-earth way. They didn’t just talk at us…they poured into us!

They reminded us that everything we want to touch is absolutely within reach. ✨

Thank you to the Ronald J. Freeman Chapter of BLSA for hosting such an amazing event and continuing to give students exactly what they need: community, connection, and inspiration!

Can’t believe I’m officially creeping up on my final year of law school. Just… wow.

Looking back at these last two years, I honestly don’t know how I pulled it all off😭😭…but I did🤏🏽🤭. Through personal challenges, school stress, and everything in between, somehow I kept showing up. And I’m so proud of the woman I’ve become in the process.

Being BLSA President was one of the biggest honors of my law school career. We brought back so many traditions, created new ones, and made some serious impact! Not to toot my own horn, but I WAS HUSLINGGGG!! Trying to get, find, and create any and every opportunity I could for the students, which resulted in over $50,000 in outside scholarships for our members (yes, fifty THOUSAND 👏🏽), 45+ events in just one 30-week academic year, and even re-booting our now award winning BLSA Moot Court Team, which not to mention (..but I still am mentioning 🤭) was 100% student-led. Whew. And that was just the tip of the iceberg 😂 none the less I did still keep my eye on the ball and got the highest grades I’ve had during this time, while doing all of that!

Looking back to my 1st year, I was the 1L Rep for BLSA and the SBA Senator-at-Large, doing my best to make sure student voices were heard and felt…especially when it came to the people who needed it most. Through all the strained cold calls, long nights briefing, and countless study sessions, we’ve made it!

It’s been two years of building, leading, supporting, and learning... and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. The org is in amazing hands now, and I’m just so grateful to everyone who’s poured into me along the way.

Little Jalah said she’d be a lawyer—and we’re really doing it. Final lap, let’s go. 🎓🖤

Graduation szn has been a lot — but one thing we knew for sure: we wanted our grads to feel celebrated, appreciated, and surrounded by love. 🖤

These are the “old heads” of BLSA — the ones who’ve held it down for three years, passed the torch, and reminded us where we came from. So before they crossed the stage, we took them out to Puttshack to laugh, reflect, and just be together one more time.

Huge shoutout to Briana Daceus and Janae Streator for coordinating the event and handling everything with the vendor — y’all really made it happen. 💐

And thank you to Ronald J. Freeman and Jessica Tehlirian for coming out to graduation the next day to support our grads — your presence meant so much. 🤍

As BLSA President, I’m just grateful I got to share these moments with this graduating class. I’ll always remember the joy in that room, the honesty in our convos, and the pride we all felt watching them walk across that stage.

Congrats again to our grads. You’ve left your mark — and we love y’all for it. 🎓✨

This year has tested me, stretched me, and poured into me in ways I didn’t expect — and closing it out with the BLSA Graduate Celebration was the perfect full-circle moment. 🖤

We celebrated our graduating members and gave flowers to the people who really showed up this year:
🌟 Professor Anne Tucker – BLSA Faculty Member of the Year
🌟 Joseph McCrary, M.Ed. – BLSA Staff Member of the Year
🌟 Alissa Williams – BLSA Member of the Year
🌟 Leandra Colley & Lyndsi Dawkins – Honored Executive Board Members

Alissa — thank you for being the kind of person who sees the gaps and just fills them. You were there when no one asked and still showed up like it was nothing.

Leandra and Lyndsi — from stepping into roles without hesitation to being the friends who helped me get through the year, I love y’all for real. Our group chat deserves an award too 😭💐

To Professor Tucker and Mr. McCrary — your care and consistency don’t go unnoticed. You didn’t just support BLSA, you supported the students behind it. Thank you.

To the grads — I’m so grateful for the relationships we built. You’ve inspired me, encouraged me, and made this role worthwhile. Wishing you jobs, peace, and bar passage on the first try! 😭🎓 It’s been an honor to serve as your BLSA President.

Huge shoutout to Alex Johnson for planning this amazing event and securing support from our BLSA Alumni — you made the vision real.

And something I’m really proud of: I had the chance to help coordinate extra love for our students. After our conversations, Jessica Tehlirian, Esq., MBA stepped in and awarded three $500 scholarships and helped sponsor our yearbooks alongside Cynthia K. Hawes, Esq., Jackie “The Fly Lawyer” Patterson, and Nigel Phiri. THANK YOU for showing up and showing out for us.

This celebration wasn’t just a night — it was a reflection of what happens when love, leadership, and community meet. I’m proud of what we built this year — and even prouder of who we built it with. 🤎⚖️

Sorry for those I didn’t tag just comment and I’ll add!! Love you all!!!
