1. The music is what’s most important always. Never change your sound to match a vibe that doesn’t resonate with you. Don’t compromise on your own sense of self. 2. Create community. Community is one of the most important things for an artist. Having people around you that care about you and your music is so important, because when all else fails, they will be the ones to pick you up and start again. 3. You don’t need to be consistently fitting in the brand. Although staying on brand is important at times, we are constantly evolving as artists and change is always necessary to grow. Art follows waves, it doesn’t follow rules, so you don’t have to either. 4. Labels aren’t the be all end all. As long as you have a team around you, you don’t have to be signed to be successful. As an independent artist myself, I have found that it is much more freeing and open to have music be released and curated at your own pace. 5. Writers block is normal. You don’t have to be writing constantly. You are allowed to not want to write or feel motivated. It’s okay to feel like you need a break and to step back. Try to stimulate the mind with nature and things that make you feel at peace. It will all come with time. Keep creating and being the best version of yourself✨ Follow to be a part of the community🩷 #artisttips #advice #musician #artist #community
