I had to make a whole campaign about it. 🥰❤️

But this campaign is bigger than a name or a shirt.

It’s about creating more space for the loc community and showing that locs can be whatever you want them to be.

You can be a baddie with locs. You can be sexy, soft, feminine, bold, glamorous — all of it.

Locs can be your birthday hair, vacation hair, photoshoot hair, going-out hair, special-occasion hair — not just an everyday style.

I want more people to see just how versatile locs really are and how many different versions of yourself you can express through them.

That’s why I create.

The biggest lesson from creating Reclaim wasn’t just making a six-minute film—it was proving that an idea is only the beginning.

What started as a single photo concept turned into a script, months of pre-production, production days, countless editing sessions, and a whole new respect for sound design. We challenged ourselves to tell an emotional story with almost no dialogue, letting the visuals and score do the talking.

This wasn’t a big Hollywood production. It was two people with an idea, a camera, determination, and a willingness to figure things out one problem at a time. Every obstacle became part of the process, and every mistake became part of the education.

One thing I learned? Hire your editors. 😂 Film editing—especially sound design—is a completely different craft. We spent more time shaping the audio than we did shooting the film, and that experience alone changed how I look at filmmaking.

I’m proud that we finished it. Not because it’s perfect, but because it’s complete. That’s another brick added to the body of work. Fifteen years from now, this project will still exist as proof that we showed up and created something.

Sometimes the only way to grow is to make the thing, learn from it, and make the next one even better.

🎥 Project: Reclaim

Theme: Healing, identity, and reclaiming yourself through visual storytelling.

Creative Process:

* Started as a photography concept.
* Expanded into a scripted short film.
* Inspired by mood boards and cinematic imagery.
* Built around visual emotion instead of dialogue.

Biggest Lesson:
Sound design is storytelling. Creating emotion without spoken words required careful editing, pacing, ambience, and music.

Takeaway:
Don’t wait until everything is perfect. Create the work, finish it, learn from it, and carry those lessons into the next project.
