A cautionary tale of why it's important to have people like @bad1nfluenzer & @bluelinerider in your MTB crew

The difference is night and day when it comes to emergency medical assessment, treatment and evac for those of us who ride MTBs

I can't express enough just how well this situation was managed by our crew and to the professionalism of qualified specialists we had on station this day

Travelling to foreign places to ride often means you won't know the geography or lay of the land upon arrival therefore it was imperative that our group would need to employ the services of a local guide in order to optimize our time once in location.

This individual would be @bluelinerider aka "Senior Lopez"

A qualified nurse by day Miguel was the perfect host throughout the tour providing expert knowledge of CHCH adventure park and beyond as well as providing an impromptu shuttle service.

I firmly believe that without his help our trip experience would not have been anywhere near as good as it was.

Miguel is a seasoned rider with a connoisseurs' appreciation for all things bike related. He is disciplined, dedicated and focused in regards to self improvement and has come a long way since we first met back in 2018.

One endearing quality that stands out to me is that Miguel is one of those fullas who has a genuine "love of the game" for bikes.

Where most people are happy to settle into niche choices of riding bikes, Miguel is not one to shy away from a biking challenge and has tackled pretty much every main discipline of riding along with all of the sub genres that one could hope to entertain.

I consider this Filipino export to be one of the greatest finds in the south and sincerely know our paths will cross again in the near future.

You know those people whom you invite to join an established group ride and your not so sure if they'll work out but it turns out they just fit amazingly into place like you'd never expect but always hoped?

Well that's @mikeymike149

Mike was a call up from the bro @_medwards1_ when our numbers were in a state of decline and it was looking like the admin of finding people
was more hassle than it was worth. I'm so thankful we found the literal "diamond" in the rough when it came too him.

More than physically capable and astonishingly adept on the bike despite a lack of lengthy experience he is proof that with the right attitude and aptitude one can persevere without gear.

One of Mikes' endearing qualities was his earnest approach to riding. Where most people will stress over the minute of what a ride entails, Mike displayed remarkable levels of "yeah bro, she'll be right" energy that would persist for the entirety of the tour.

Never one to moan or complain, he set himself the challenging task of fitting in with a crowd of laughable lowkey fools, that would bring out the quiet and reserved jokester, much to the approval of said grouping.

I always appreciate people like Mikey whom bring renewed energy and dynamics to a formed grouping such as ours and having him in the fold was an absolute W

I sincerely look forward to more adventures in his company.
