Bealach na Bà — the Pass of the Cattle

Rising through the mountains of the Applecross Peninsula, this historic route was once used by drovers guiding their cattle across the Highlands towards distant markets. The road was completed in 1822, climbing to 626 metres through tight bends and steep gradients before descending towards Applecross.

These photographs were taken during a recent road trip across Scotland—a journey of long miles, changing weather and some of the most dramatic roads in the country.

More than two centuries after it opened, Bealach na Bà remains a road that demands your full attention—but rewards you with views that are difficult to forget.

Over 500 miles in two days — from Edinburgh to Gairloch and back through some of the most dramatic roads and landscapes Scotland has to offer.

Mountain passes disappearing into the mist, quiet roadside stops, unexpected conversations, changing light and plenty of miles shared between the cars. I wanted these photographs to capture more than the machinery; the people, small details and moments in between were just as much a part of the journey.

A huge thank you to my friends for inviting me along and allowing me to document the trip. An unforgettable couple of days on the road.

Fantastic weekend away exploring the far far away parts of Scotland in the motorcar with @seshlimits just like the good old Rev Limits days.
Aston Martins can go off road and traffic jams mean skateboarding
