For Day 3 of the UGC Portfolio Challenge, I’m taking on the @blueroomcare Mental Health Unfiltered Challenge, combining two things I care about: creating content that connects with people and having honest conversations about mental health.

I’m sharing a personal experience that left me feeling deeply alone, and reflecting on how therapy might have helped me navigate it.

Aisha Bubah has spent years building mental health infrastructure in Nigeria. In Lagos, Ebunoluwa Collins was doing the same at Blueroomcare Business. Different cities, different organizations, same mission. Until August 4, 2026, they'd never sat in the same room.

That changed at The Health Founders' Table, hosted in collaboration with @cascador_africa: an intimate space for health founders to name their hardest problems, find where their work overlaps, and trade the knowledge only another founder building in this space would have. It's a gap we see often, collaboration is one of the most overlooked parts of building in Nigeria, and the table was built to close it.

By the end of the day, Aisha and Ebunoluwa weren't just two founders who'd finally met. They were proof of what we kept hearing throughout the event: founders rarely face these challenges alone. They just don't always know who else is facing them too.

The Health Founders' Table brought together a room full of people committed to solving Africa's most pressing health challenges.

Not to pitch. Not to perform.
But to have the conversations that founders rarely get the chance to have.

Convened with @cascador_africa , the gathering created space for honest discussions on capital, market access, workforce challenges, and the realities of building sustainable health businesses in today's environment.

Across every session, one theme remained clear: the challenges founders face are interconnected, and so are the solutions.

When founders, investors, operators and ecosystem leaders learn from one another, we move beyond identifying problems and begin building the partnerships needed to solve them.

That's what this table was designed to do.

For two days in Abuja, the room was filled with one hard question:

At the @insightslearningforum, policymakers, healthcare leaders, innovators, researchers, funders and implementers gathered around one realization: Africa's next health breakthrough won't come from isolated solutions.

It will come from connected systems.

One theme kept returning: investment must follow impact.
